I awoke to the smell of pizza and alcohol, along with the sound of a raging storm. The thing is, I don't own alcohol. And Jeff is next to me- wait.
I rolled over to see the side of the bed he occupied to be vacant, besides a black sleeping mask an hoodie.
As I tried to stand up to jump off my bed, I tripped on my blanket and fell face first on the floor.
"Ouch, ouch ouch..." I grunted repeatedly while rubbing my swelling nose. I looked up to see Jeff kneeling down.
"Move your hand."
I removed my hand off my nose.
"It's defiantly broken," he rubbed his chin that was prickly before asking, "does it hurt?"
I shook my head. Strangely, I never really felt pain.
My train of thought ceased and he placed one finger on nose and pressed it back into place. I winced but felt a whole lot better.
"T-thank you, Jeff.."
"Yeah. There's food downstairs. Don't fall down the stairs, klutz."
A large smile was written on my face as I linked arms with him, which he seemed to feel uncomfortable with, but still let me do so.
But as we made it to the kitchen, the door bell rang. My body froze. What if it were the police? I couldn't go to jail! I'd be lonely... The other girls would kill me!
Jeff seemed to sense my fear and went ahead and looked through the peep hole, the reported back to me that it was a woman wearing dress pants, a loose dark green shirt which held a pin on it that read "July Williams".
Shit.
"That's.... That's my moms best friend.... She used to baby sit me when I was a kid..."
"Answer the door."
"Are you crazy?!"
Anger glazed over his eyes.
"Stupid girl, I said answer the damn door. If you don't answer, she'll get suspicious. Just tell her your mom had urgent business with family out of state and she'll leave for the time being.
"I don't appreciate your tone.." I said under my breath to where no one could even tell I was speaking English and opened the door, putting on the most casual smile I could muster up.
"Hey, July!"
"Hey, Amelia... I'd love to stay and chat, but I came her for a reason, if you don't mind."
Seeing July so concerned was odd because she was normally always hyper and annoying. I hated her.
"Oh, okay."
"Yeah. Your mom has been ignoring all my phone calls and has ditched the plans we made for brunch. I'm getting quite worried." She straightened out the wrinkles on her shirt and glared at me. She never really trusted me because I'd always be out to get her by lying to my mom and saying she would hit me.
"I'm sorry, but Iris left yesterday for a family crisis. She left me in charge of the house, but didn't give a specific date as to when she'd return." I said as calmly as I could and smiled. "Thanks for being concerned, but I was watching a movie, so..."
Her eyes darted to inside my house. I noticed and started to close the door inch by inch.
"Okay. Sorry to disturb."
"It's alright. Bye."
She left without another word.
Closing the door, Jeff presented me with a plate of pizza and a glass of tea, cold. I hated cold tea. Luckily, hiding emotions was easy.
"Heat it up is you wish." He muttered.
Oops. I guess discovering emotions was easy for him.
"No it's alright!"
I walked over to my couch and sat down while stuffing a piece of pizza in my mouth. Jeff sat beside me. The warmth of his knee, which was touching mine, swarmed through my body like electricity. I couldn't help but look into his eyes.
"We need money. I have a few thousand from people's wallets and credit cards that I've hacked into after their 'accidental' deaths. But do not use electricity, water, etc. if its not needed. We can make use of the fire place for food that needs warming. Fire wood is easy to get."
I nodded and started eating my second piece of pizza.
"What if something's happens by the , though?..."
Grunting, he placed his hand on my knee, squeezing. My question must have agitated him.
"You have to trust me."
These words rung in my head. Trusting a killer... It's strange; I did trust him. I felt like he was the only one I actually could trust.
"Of course."
I saw a smile form on his lips. Seeing his smile was the most thrilling thing that's ever occurred in my existence. He truly, scratch that, he was the most beautiful being I've ever seen.
Leaning forward, he placed his lips on my cheek. My entire body shivered in delight. I never felt like this before.
"Hey, smile, klutz." He said while running his boney fingers through my tangle-free hair, then giving me another kiss. This time, however, on my lips. He couldn't close his eyes, which I liked. It meant we could be state intently in each other eyes.
I could tell right then that I had a crush on Jeff the Killer.
