Chapter 12

A few weeks passed by quickly; Jeff would occasionally leave the house without a single word and come back covered in blood. I'd always worry when he'd come back with different wounds and blood shot eyes. I knew he was in pain. He must be, he has no family left. Everyone important in his life was dead: all he had left was his rage from his tragic child hood and his deranged body. But I wanted to take away his pains, I wanted to make sure he'd be happy forever. Even if that meant giving up my own sanity. I'd do anything my for beloved Jeff the Killer.

I awake to the comforting feeling of massaging hands on my lower back. Turning my head to the side, I witnessed Jeff rubbing my back. He smiled as he saw me.
"I'm sorry for waking you; you just had a hard time staying still and I assumed this large bruise on your back was the problem." He said while hopping of the bed and extending his arm out to me. I happily took a hold of his gruff hand and smiled.
"I have plans for today. Get dressed in something that can be dirtied." His eyes wandered around my room walls that were covered in anime posters, the down at me once again. Worriedly I questioned, "We're not going to...." Without finishing my question, he patted my head and turned around.
"No. We're going on a date. "
He exited my room and headed downstairs.
"Date?..." I mumbled, blushing like crazy and trying to hold down the butterflies that were swarming in my stomach.
Quickly I threw on an old, plain black t-shirt and a pair of black shorts, then a pair of two-year old grey and black converse shoes. They weren't the most flattering, but they were already as cruddy as they could get, so they'd have to do.
I sat down on my bed with a brush in one and and a mirror in the other and fixed my bed hair, brushing my bangs back into my forehead, although the weather outside was a little humid. I hadn't worn eyeliner since my first encounter with Jeff, it didn't seem necessary, and if there's anything I learned from him, it was that doing unnecessary things was a pointless waste of precious time.
After brushing out my once before tangled hair I made my way down stairs. Jeff was leaning on the door holding a large back pack. He looked so cool, I couldn't help but laugh at his sudden change of appearance from scary to cool. It looked just like a scene from a manga.
"Amelia, we're going to the forest; there's a beautiful water fall and lake. I brought food for lunch as well." In his hand was two granola bars, so I took one and began eating it for our late breakfast. He did the same with the other.
"Ah! So good!" I laughed and finished it in seconds. "Peanut butter flavor! My favorite!" I clung to his arm and pushed him out door while he took his time eating his. He reminded silent. But not in a bad way. After all, he was a man of few words. I liked that about him. It was mysterious and cute. Much better than the annoying ness of talking way to damn much, like the other kids at school.
"You're annoying..." He muttered under his breath while tossing the wrapper on my driveway.
"What?!" I explained, putting on the most sorrowful pouty face I could muster up. He sighed.
"Nothing."
His hand grabbed mine, as if to make up for the insult he had just hit me with. I smiled.
After around an hour and a half if walking, we were far into the dense forest. The gray sky must have alarmed all the creatures because there was no noise besides the crunching of leaves, sticks and the distant roar of thunder. It looked like it did when I first met him.
"How nostalgic..."
"Hm?"
"Oh, uhm... Nothing, just thinking back at old things;" I answered, "The new school year is coming, what am I going to do? I'm obviously convicted of the crime of my mother..." I twirled my hair, staring at my feet as we walked.
"You'll stay with me. We'll move out if your house and remove every trace of you and I from your home and go to my house for a while."
"Okay."
After a few more minutes of walking in utter silence, I heard the sound of running water along with a crack of thunder that inched closer with every minute.
"We're here." He said with more happiness in his voice. By now, it was two in the afternoon, and I could hear his stomach growling.
"Lets eat!" We both said in unison, followed by our laughs.
We sat down on the lake side while he began unpacking his bag. My mouth dropped. He pulled out a box of pizza, a container of fried rice with dumpling, a bag of two dozen chocolate chip cookies, a dozen donuts, and a lot of water.
I sat in shock.
"HOW ARE YOU NOT FAT?! HOW DID ALL THAT FIT IN THERE?!" I yelled.
He looked a bit embarrassed and brushed off my question.
"Are you going to eat or not?"
I grinned and picked up a slice of pizza and a donut.
"Thanks for the food."
"Thanks for the food." He said back.

We ended up eating everything he brought, which caused me to throw up. I laid down, embarrassed, while he began to rub my upset stomach and flick my head with his free hand.
"You shouldn't have eaten so much." He said worriedly.
"You ate more than me!" I said frustratedly and tried to push myself off him, but he held me down and kissed my forehead.
"Just lay still, it's about to rain."
