As he slept soundly on my bare thighs, and leaned my head on the back of the couch and stared at the ceiling. Ever since I was a child, I'd sit on the couch in the middle of the night, contemplating. Never really about one certain thing. Just thinking in the silence of the dark nights, heading the occasional howl of a lone coyote. I would laugh, for the creature was probably happier than I had ever been.
I grabbed my phone of the charger, which was basically of the only electricity I'd use, and unlocked it, revealing a playlist of songs I used to listen to a lot. I selected one at random, staring at the album art and singing.
"They say this could never happen, they say we could never be...
Are you telling me you listened?
So there's no you and me?
And we can't live this way forever?
You said you'd run away,
You said you'd run away me..."
An hour passed and the album ended. Suddenly, I grew a raging headache, not a headache like normal ones, though. My eyes were growing blurry and the roomed seemed to be spinning. My hands were pinned to the sides of my head, trying to relieve the throbbing, but to no avail. My eyes watered and I started to sweat. I heard faint mumbling, however I was unable to clearly see anything or for that matter, I couldn't hear over the pounding in my skull.
"Jeff..." I whispered before falling on the couch.Slowly trying to stand up, I heard the coo of doves. I hadn't seen the sun in weeks. It was oddly warming. My body was drenched in sweat, and there was a wet towel on my forehead. I could feel something on my hand. Jeff was there, clasping it tightly.
He didn't move at all, and he seemed skinnier than normal. I began to panic. What happened?!
"Jeff?" I said, poking his cheek.
Still no movement.
"Jeff!!" I grabbed his shoulder and shacked violently causing his lower back, black hair to fall onto his face.
A hand grabbed my wrist.
I sighed heavily and wiped away the few tears that had been mixed with the sweat from the night before.
"What was that about?!" He complained.
Too embarrassed to answer, I just shook my head and giggled. My head hurt.
"How are you feeling, Amelia?"
"I have a small headache... Did you move me from the couch into here?"
He looked at me like I was insane.
"Do you not remember what happened last night? You became very sick." He grumbled and pulled me close, kissing my forehead.
"You worried me so much..." He whispered.-------------------
* I KNOW THIS SUCKS I'M SORRY! I'LL DO BETTER ON THE NEXT ONE HOPEFULLY! I'm really busy today, but I just really wanted to get something out there! Again, SORRY
