As we walked back to that old, secluded candy shop, I tripped and began to fall before Jeff quickly extended his slender arms out and pulled me up to his chest.
"What what you're doing, idiot." He scowled and pushed me away.
"I can't help it! I'm just clumsy..." I mumbled angrily, walking ahead of him to the shop. I knew he was sorry because he grabbed my hand firmly, and although he made no eye contact with me and held his frown firmly, I knew he was sorry for being a major butt head. I giggled inside.
After a few moments we were back at the store, but this time at the back door. One part of me expected the creepy man to still be there, waiting to finish me off, but I had a weapon right beside me. This weapon was indestructible.
As we stood at the back entrance, his eyes shifted towards me but he still faced the locked door: "do you have on of those things females use?"
I looked at him with a disgusted face and slapped him. "What the hell Jeff?!"
Quickly noticing his mistake, he shook his head and tried again: "No, no, no. Not that. The things you use in your hair!"
I blushed and sighed. "You need to be more exact and descriptive... Dumb ass..." I took a bobby pin out of my hair and handed it to him. He took it, still having embarrassment in his eyes and picked the lock in under ten seconds. I wasn't shocked in the least.
"Go quickly." He groaned while I jumped with glee and ran inside and grabbed the entire box of Reese's pieces in the front of the store, assuming they were safe, and made my way back out happily.
"You're not going to say anything bad about these ones, are you?" I question him wearily, tightly gripping the box.
"No, they're fine. Let's go home."
My entire expression changed as we entered the light from a street light and I cheered, holding his hand and hold the box in my other hand.
After thirty minutes, my eyes started to become like bricks and I tripped over nothing many times. I assume Jeff became annoyed with this because he swiftly picked up my tired body and began to run.
"Jeff?"
"Shh, Amelia. We'll be home shortly. Just go to sleep."
Hearing those words from him brought a smile to my face, where as before scared me.
"I love you, Jeff." I said before drifting off to sleep, the last thing I heard was a deep, gruff voice whispering "I love you too, Amelia."
