As his bleak eyes gazed into mine, the piercing sound of shattering glass broke the silence in which we were only moment enjoying.
"What the hell was that?" I whispered, a little frightened and a little excited.
Jeff's hands had already lifted me up and found his sharp blade in which he hasn't used in some time. The heat of the mid-summer day was causing my body to glisten with sweat, while he remained pale and dry.
"Residents in this home, stay where you are with your hands up! Anyone in here is under arrest for the kidnaping and killing of disappearing citizens!"
The sound of trampling feet echoed from the back of my house and into the living room where Jeff and I stood quietly with our hands up. My body forced itself closed to Jeff's while trembling. I didn't want to go to jail! Surely Jeff would be killed for all the murders he's commit! Not to mention my strong attraction to him.
Wearily I gazed up to his eyes; his lips opened very slightly, as if he were trying to say something. Although I had absolutely no idea what he could have possibly said, I knew he was trying to comfort me. This guess was right. A smile grew upon his cheeks, along with the most malicious chuckle I've ever heard.
"What are you going to do, shoot me?" He laughed.
"Quiet! You have the right to remain silent! Any-"
Jeff interrupted him, "Anything you say can and will be held again you in the court of law, right?" His silent laughter turned into a shrieking giggle. The knife in his fists plunged down into the police mans stomach, causing the other police man to start firing their guns at him. I screamed in fear, but not for myself. For my love. My only friend in this entire world.
My scream was muffled by Jeff's frigid hand upon my lips and he threw me over his shoulder and ran upstairs, shoving me in my closet, and tubing back down. His footsteps were so intensely quiet, it made my body quiver.
Shots rang through my ears like bombs. Who would've guessed something like this would happen to them. Definitely to me. Considering I was always the odd, quiet person in school and in public.
A few more minutes of sheer racket went in before everything went silent and the door to my closet creaked open.
Before me stood Jeff, drenched in blood from his newest victims. But something scared me about him. His arm, there was a bullet half way in his arm. I assumed he noticed my fearful glare and tugged it out, letting blood gush out of the open wound.
"Don't worry, I can sew. Ill fix this."
"No, Jeff-" I began, "let me do it!" I gently took ahold of his uninjured arm and dragged him to my bathroom, sitting him on the closed toilet seat.
I opened the cabinet under the sink, retrieving a first aid kit and quickly got to work. I turned the bath on, then waiting for the water to fill up the giant tub.
Cleaning the surface of the wound, I lifted off his hoodie and easily closed the hole. I could feel his relief, even though he didn't show the slightest hint of pain.
"T-take off the rest of your clothes and get in the bath... If... If you want, I cloud join and w-wash your back..." I suggested nervously, covering my face with the palms of my bloodied hands.
The rest of the day went by quickly, and it was soon supper time. We were both starving, as we haven't eaten breakfast or lunch. He seemed much happier than usual, probably because he hasn't killed in a week or so.
"Lets order pizza. I have an anime movie that you wanted me to get... Howls Moving Castle..."
I giggled with glee and threw myself on him with joy.
"Thank you very much, Jeff-kun!!"
