Stardew Valley Shane X Female Player: Want A Light?

Chapter 22: You Don't Have To Be Alone Part 2

((A/N: DON'T PLAY THE SONG YET! WAIT UNTIL MY CUE!))

Poke's POV:

Jas and I wait for Shane to come out of the bathroom by playing around. After a couple of minutes I hear a door close and footsteps come towards us. I see Shane wearing the same shirt, but now he's wearing flannel sweat pants. Jas hugs Shane then drags him back to where I am. I look at the clock, 8:10. I turn back to Shane and Jas. "Well Jas, we have 50 minutes before you need to get ready for bed. What do you want to do?"

Jas starts thinking, and then smiles wide. "How about we sing? I love singing!" I love singing too, but I don't like singing in front of people. But I'll do it to make Jas happy. "Sure Jas. How about you Shane?" I turn to Shane to see him rubbing his neck. He sighs and then smiles, "I'll do it." Jas then yells in more of a quiet voice, "Yay!" I find the most appropriate songs on my iPhone. Fortunately, I have a lot of Disney songs on my phone for Jas. Jas sings "I Have A Dream" from Tangled and I sing the company plus Flynn Rider parts. Next is Shane who went scrolling through my phone until he stopped at the "Dear Evan Hansen" soundtrack. He selected it and selects "If I Could Tell Her" and prepares himself before he begins singing. Shane lets the actors say the line where they're just talking then begins singing.

"He said there's nothing like your smile, sort of subtle, and perfect, and real~." His voice sounded amazing, at first I thought I was listening to an angel.

"He said, you never knew how wonderful that smile could make someone feel~.

And he knew, whenever you get bored you scribble stars on the cuffs of your jeans~.

And he noticed, that you still fill out the quizzes that they put in those teen magazines~."

I felt like my heart and body just left the ground when he is singing. I love this feeling. Then Shane looks at the ground.

"But he kept it all inside his head~, what he saw he left unsaid~.

And though he wanted to~, he couldn't talk to you~.

He couldn't find the way~, but he would always say~."

After those few lines Shane starts to look up and I can see a pink tint to his cheeks. It's adorable to me.

"If I could tell her~!

Tell her everything I see~...

If I could tell her~!

How she's everything to me~..."

I love Dear Evan Hansen, I love singing, and I love Shane. What's better than this?

"But we're a million worlds apart~,

And I don't know how I would even start~...

If I could tell her~!

If I could tell her~..."

Then there were some more dialogue lines before Shane started singing again.

"He thought~,

You looked really pretty~ er-

It looked pretty cool when you put~,

indigo streaks in your hair~..."

I knew at some point Zoe starts singing along. I want to sing with Shane.

"And he wondered~ how you learned to dance~

Like the rest of the world isn't there~..."

I want to dance with Shane. Even if it means tripping up my feet and busting my chin open, I want to dance with him. Shane looks down again.

"But he kept it all inside his head~...

What he saw he left unsaid~..."

He looks up again and looks at both Jas and I. I felt a smile come down onto my face, I couldn't help it anymore I wanted to sing. Shane saw me and I could already tell I wanted to sing. He probably knew this song before.

"If I could tell her~!

Tell her everything I see~...

If I could tell her~!

How she's everything to me~..."

I get up and stand next to him, he smiles at me, I smile back, and we both sing the next line.

"But we're a million worlds apart~..."

Then it goes back to just him, but I still stand next to him. Jas comes up to me as well.

"And I don't even know how I would even start~

If I could tell her~..!"

Then comes in one of the most dramatic parts of the song. A part of the song I love.

"If I could tell her~!

But what do you do~

When there's this great divide~?"

Jas gives both Shane and I a light hug while we continue singing. I sing two more times and they're both coming up.

"He just seemed so far away~..!"

"And what do you do~

When the distance is too wide~?"

"It's like I don't know anything~..."

I then watch and listen to Shane sing the rest of the song, and go sit back down with Jas. Then comes in one of the most touchy-feely moments of the song.

"And how do you say~

I love you~?

I love you~...

I love you~..!

I love you~!"

Then there's a small break in the song, I see Shane's face is bright red. He breathes in before he starts singing again.

"But we're a million worlds apart~...

And I don't know how I would even start~...

If I could tell her~...

If I could~..."

Then the song ends and both Jas and I cheer and hug Shane. Shane is a bit shocked, but hugs back. We all let go and I sing "I'm Almost There" from Disney's "Princess and the Frog." We all sing until 9:00 then Shane and I get Jas ready and to bed. After Jas falls asleep, Shane speaks to me.

"So... What happened Poke? Are you ok?"
