Eve's POV:
I can't believe I'm doing this! I'm breaking into my best friends house to steal her clothes, while her mom is still there! How are we gonna pull this off??? I thought sneaking up to her front door and pulling out the key Jessica had given me. Sliding into the lock, I gave Ashlyn a nod before tip toeing inside.
Surveying my surroundings I took everything in, it felt like forever since I'd been back in this house. I glided up the steps that led to the second floor, where all the bedrooms were located. I took large, quiet steps, until I stopped in front of her parents' room. Inside I could here the TV playing and Jessica's mom chowing down on some..salad?
"THAT'S RIGHT! DON'T LET HER TREAT YOU LIKE THAT RACHEL!" She shouted. I giggled, but quickly slapped my hand over my mouth, praying she didn't hear that. Putting that to the back of my head, I went past the room and into the second one. This one had the door wide open, and I walked inside.
It was the same size as Jessica's room, just painted a dark blue, with one or two sport posters on the wall. It smelled vaguely of axe, and had a shirt and a pair of pants laying on the floor. Creeping around I tried to find out who's room this was, then I saw it. A picture of a college age boy and Jessica smiling for a picture.
I racked my brain for the boys name. It was Jessica's brother....Ryan? Raider? Ryder! His name is Ryder, I thought smiling at myself for my small accomplishment. "Who are you and what you are doing in my room?!" A voice boomed behind me, my heart sank and I turned to see him. The same boy from the picture, Ryder. At least he can't see my face from under this ski mask!
"Sorry! I was just looking for Jessica's room!" I said anxiously. He raised an eyebrow as Brandon walked in, let's face it, I'm doomed. Caught breaking into my best friends house. "Your in the wrong room." Ryder said crossing his arms.
"Yeah I know, now if you'll excuse me. I have it find Jessica's room." I said nervously pushing them hard out of my way and running into the next room. Luckily this one was hers. Quickly, I shut the door, locked it, and scurried to her closet. After holding back the vomit that appeared in the back of my throat after seeing her wardrobe, I pulled five garbage bags out if my purse and opened them all.
Quickly I yanked clothes off the hangers and stuffed them, three by three, into the bags. There was a knock at the door, and the knob jiggled."Hey! What are you doing in there!" I heard Brandon shout. Moving faster I opened the window and shoved the bags one by one outside, where they slid off the roof and onto the ground where Ashlyn was waiting.
As I finished I heard someone picking the lock to the door, and then it burst open as Ryder and Brandon charged inside. I screamed, and jumped onto the window ledge, with the last bag in my left hand.
"Get out from there!" Both boys shouted trying to climb out after me. Pushing the bag off the ledge, I looked at my only option left. A tree. I propelled myself off the edge, and landed right on a sturdy tree branch. Thank god, I was so close to falling.
"Go downstairs! He's trying to escape!" Brandon shouted running out of Jessica's room. Oh no. "Ashlyn!!! Put down the bags!" I shouted. She quickly put them in a pile that basically looked like a foam ball pit.
This is gonna hurt. I thought jumping off the tree, and falling to the ground, landing not so gracefully on the bags. Not having time to register any amount of pain, we loaded the bags into the car and got in, just as the two boys came hurdling out of the house.
"Go!!!!!" I shouted at Ashlyn. She did as I said an hit the pedal, making the car speed forward and out onto the road. I can't believe it, we got the bags, we didn't get caught, and now we're making it away unharmed. Well sorta, the bags broke my fall, but the tree still gave be a few cuts.
Now time for phase two of Jessica's plan. It's gonna get good.
