Waking up in the morning I woke up with a big smile on my face. I jumped out of bed and ran to my closet and was greeted by greys, browns, blacks, dark blues, and a tiny bit of bright colors. No more sparkles and glitter, no more pink everything. No more.
I put on sweatpants, sneakers, a t-shirt and a hoodie with the words "Changing" spread across the front. Throwing my hair up in a messy bun, I sprinted out the door, down the steps, and into the kitchen. My mom greeted me with my backpack and a granola bar for my way to school.
She hugged me, "You look amazing." I smiled, took my things, and walked out the door, and drove to school. Right as I arrived peoples eyes stared directly at my car, waiting to see the fabulous Jay in her designer clothes strut into the building.
Smirking, I swung open the door and shut it quickly behind me. The jealousy and eagerness in their faces faded away, and was replaced with a confused look. I walked normally into the school with my head held high, my confidence burning within me.
After walking into the building, no one swarmed me. No one came over to gossip to me. No one pointed at me saying complements or rude remarks. Perfect. Then I saw Ashlyn and Eve by the lockers waiting for me, but in front of them stood Bree, Chrystal, and Rosie with unpleasant looks on their face.
"Hey guys! And...barbies." I said waving them off to join Ashlyn and Eve. "What did you do!?" Bree screamed pointing at my clothing. I looked in the opposite direction then back to my friends, "Did you hear something?" I asked. Eve smiled, "Nope." Ashlyn shrugged, "Must be the wind."
I tried not to laugh, "Oh well, let's go. Don't want to be late for class." I said taking their hands and taking a step away. "Wait!" Rosie said putting her hand on my shoulder. I stopped and looked at her, surprised. "Hey, um...Jessica? Can you, Chrystal and I hang out sometime?" Chrystal nodded beside her.
Bree stood shocked by what was happening. I smiled, "Sure. Want to walk to class with us?" Both girls' eyes brightened, "Yeah. That'd be great."

It's been months since it all came to an end. Chrystal and Rosie are my friends now, and I've made friends with nearly everyone in school. Eventually Bree apologized and now were friends. Surprising right? Never thought that would happen. And yesterday my mom bought me a diary, and now...here's my entry:
Dear Diary,
This is Jessica writing...first diary I've ever had. So I want to make my first entry special, because it means a lot to me. A lesson to live by is, always stay true to who you are. Don't take blackmail. Stand up for yourself. There's always a way to stay out of a bad situation. But, after what I have just been through...I learned something else. People change, I for one have changed in many ways.
I'm stronger now. I'm smarter. I'm...better. But, I'm still changing. Life has changed me, and because I am still young I will continue to change. Changing is not a bad thing, it's good. It will make you better. I always have to remember to keep changing....changing. It's the best thing in the world. Changing.
