It was time for phase two of my "genius" plan, the part that would transform me in the best way. I smiled at myself as we got out of the car, and entered the mall with the garbage bags slung over our backs. People gave us weird looks, but I ignored them and kept walking.
To save you the time of reading a lot of boring things, I'll just tell you it in a few sentences. I went through each and every single store and returned all of the clothes. We bought back my old style clothing using the money we got from returning everything. We got my hair dyed back to it's regular color, meaning no blonde at the tips. We removed all the makeup from my face, and now I look back to normal. Beautifully normal.
We smiled at ourselves and went out for dinner to celebrate our accomplishment. It may not seem like a big deal, nothing that's happened so far may seem like a big deal. But trust me, I speak for myself and my friends when I say this, it is a big deal.
We went to Melanie's Hotdog Kingdom, and sat down at a table. Then Melanie walked over with a big smile on her face, "Hey young ladies! Lookin' great as always, you want the usual?" She asked while putting her little notepad in her apron. "Yep! Thanks Mel!" I said waving to her as she went back into the kitchen.
Ashlyn took her large soda and sipped it. And when I say sip it, I mean down a quarter of it in thirty seconds. She let out a happy little sigh and took her soda in her hand, holding it up high in the air. "Here's to having our Jess back!" She cheered. We laughed and hit our sodas against each other.
Melanie brought over our meals, and we thanked her while digging in. It's good to be back.
I rode home extremely happy, so happy that even when I passed Bree's house my mood stayed the same. Whistling, I pulled up to my house and hopped out of my car, skipping up to my house. Everything is perfect! Nothing can ruin this day, right?
I opened the door to the house and saw my dad sitting at the kitchen table using a screw driver to open the back of a toy. Springs, and other parts cluttered the table, with a few stray ones on the floor. "Dad!!!!" I screamed running up and tackling him in a hug. He was hardly ever home, mainly just at work running the chains of Toy Stores.
He gave me a huge hug in return, "Jessica! It's so good to see you!" He said grinning from ear to ear. He was tall, and... well basically an older version of Brandon. He had his jet black hair, and his green eyes. While I have my moms features, like her hazel eyes and caramel colored hair. Someone coughed behind him to grab our attention. It was my mom.
"Remember Robert, we got us all together to talk." She said walking into the living room with my dad following. I stood there not sure if I should follow, "Jessica that includes you!" She called, I guess I don't have a choice. Walking into the living room I saw Brandon, Ryder, my mom, and my dad sitting on the couch waiting for me. Uh oh.
"Jessica, please sit." Mom said motioning to the seat across from her, next to my father. "Uhh...okay." I said moving uneasily onto the couch. "Why didn't you just tell me?" She asked a hurt look on her face. She knew. "Mom, I'm really sorry I just...didn't want to hurt your feelings. And you were so enthusiastic about the whole makeover, that I couldn't tell you the truth. I'm sorry." I confessed hiding my face behind my hands.
"Sweetie, it's okay. I know it's been hard on you, with all the blackmailing. And I'm proud that you found such a clever and daring plan to fix this mess. Your smart, intelligent, sweet, and an overall amazing child." She said coming over and patting my back. I sniffled, "Really?" She smiled down at me before engulfing me in a hug, "Absolutely."
She let me go, "Okay, now that you have all your new things I've told your brothers to help you carry your bags out of the car and put them in your room. You can go relax, or do whatever it is teenagers do these days. I'll call you down in an hour when dinners ready."
That night was literally the best night I've ever had. Mom made a huge, unhealthy dinner, and I ate until I couldn't pack anything else into my stomach. Then, my family sat down and watched three movies in a row and went through 5 bowls of popcorn. Though, one of the five bowls was thrown across the room during the scary movie.
After words, I took a shower, made my lunch for the next day, and crawled into bed.
