Today is literally the day a terrible choice is made. One that will change me, in such a HORRIBLE way, that I will probably never be the same again! So let me tell you about me first, my name is Jessica, I'm tall for my age. I have tan-ish skin, and long caramel colored, wavy hair. My eyes are hazel, and let me say I'm not the most popular girl in school. I'm at the bottom of the popularity scale. Not to mention there is a lot of people I can't stand. But before I start going into much detail, I better tell you how it all started.
I woke up to the smell of waffles. Quickly I jumped out of bed, pulled on my robe, and ran downstairs. Sitting at the table, I waited for my mom to bring over my waffles. Every other Sunday she made waffles for me, since it was my favorite food.
My mom sat at the table and ate half of a waffle, she was into the small eating stuff. She goes on diets but just by looking at her it's obvious that she doesn't need to go on one. Anyway, my Dad was at work, at the toy store. He owns a huge chain of toy stores, so I get a bunch of cool stuff. "Mom, can we go shopping today? My clothes are getting a little small." I said scarfing down half of my waffle.
She smiled, "Yep! And I've been doing research on fashion these days, and I'd be happy to help!" She said finishing off her breakfast. I nodded, not thinking she was serious. She walked into the kitchen, and started washing the dishes. "Get ready Jessica! Were leaving in a few minutes!" She called. Quickly I finished my waffles, and ran upstairs.
Walking into my room, I opened my drawers and pulled out a baggy shirt, a grey hoodie with the words "Deal With It" in large purple letters, and sweat pants. I threw on my sneakers, and tossed my hair up in a messy bun, not bothering to comb through it. Skipping down the steps I met mom by the door. I stuffed my hands in my pockets and followed her to the car. It was a silver Toyota, a little old but still good.
On the ride to the mall I switched through the different stations. I listened to XO, Whistle, Dark Horse, and Counting Stars. All of my favorite songs, especially XO, because Beyonce is my absolute favorite singer EVER. Today was turning out really nice. We pulled into a parking spot, and walked inside. I already knew where I was going to go, and where I was going to avoid.
I started walking to my normal store when my mom stopped me, "Where are you going?" She asked. I looked in the direction of the store, "To where I always go." She gave a smile, and patted my shoulder. "That store wasn't in the magazines. Come on, let's go to the better stores. I know the perfect ones too!" My smiled dropped, and a lump formed in my throat. This wasn't going to be good.
She dragged me farther into the mall. "Let's go to Hollister, Abercrombie, American Eagle, Aereopastel, Old Navy, Rue 21, Forever 21, Wet Seal, Charlotte Russe, Urban Outfitters, Banana Republic. OH! Then we'll go to the salon... (blah) (blah) (blah) (etc..) (etc..)." I was frozen as she skipped to a front of the first store, dragging me along with her. "Let's get started!"
