{For some reason I thought this could be a not really maybe kinda cliche love song. Don't judge me it's late and I just got back from the LYR tour concert.}

He could feel the tension between them. It filled the air between their bodies. Too many words have been thrown to turn back now. The two lovers stare at each other, wordless. Neither of them making an effort to fix the mistake or change what happened.

"This is the end of us then." Dan spoke. The words tasting bitter on his tongue. Phil looked at him with sorry eyes and remained silence. Dan had his answer. In a swift careful movement he removed the band from his finger and placed it onto the counter.

With one last heavy heave of his chest, Dna picked the shattered pieces of his heart up off the floor, and with a teary eyed glance he turned away. His arms crossed hos body, holding himself tightly as if it would help the pain welling inside his chest. Hot tears stained his cheeks as he walked away from his love. Well, the man who used to be his love.

Dan unconsciously rubbed the spot on his finger where that ring remained for so many years before. He could hear Phil shuffling around behind him but he didn't dare turn around.

"You and me are like drugs and candy." Those words stopped her in her tracks, stealing the breath from her already deprived lungs. "Take one down for the young and easy."

Their wedding song.

Dan slowly turned to face Phil. The tortured look of pain and heartbreak covered his features making his heart throb.

"You get me out of my head, I fill the space in your bed, high on the beat of a breakdown." He sang softly, voice hoarse from the previous yelling match and choked back tears as he took a few steps closer to Dan, sighing slightly in relief when he didn't back away.

"Cause you and me are like drugs and candy." Phil slowly raised out his hand towards Dan in a last desperate attempt of reconciliation. You could see the look in his eyes, full of love, sorrow, heartache, fear, and hope. Dan could see his outstretched hand shaking.

His mind was racing. Heart pounding. Too many thoughts to compute. This was his husband. His first boyfriend, first kiss, first love, first everything. This was the song of their love. Their young and reckless renegade through life. All the adventures and memories all kept in simple yet complex melody.

Dan could almost feel the fear radiating off of him. The longer he stood there the stronger the feeling got. He looks exactly the same as he did on our wedding day. Only those were happy tears.

Dan took a step forward slowly, looking into Phils eyes as Dan sang softly with his raspy voice.

"And I don't wanna give it up."
