Chapter 26 - Exploring

A/N: it's official I am the worst updater alive! Anyways let's hope this is an okay chapter.

{Charley's POV}

It has been a whole week since Shawn and I got back together and it doesn't feel like the drama even existed - which is perfect. Life is amazing at the moment; I have finally began to bond with my mother and brother also I have nearly gotten over my stage fright, and let's not forget the drama with Shawn is over. However, Aaliyah and my mum have banned me from social media - which I am furious at. But, deep deep down I know they have a reason for their drastic actions.

Aaliyah and Lauren are in my living room as we are about to watch some movies - Disney of course. While I am making the popcorn I over hear their conversation. "Has "Shawn told Charley yet?" I faintly hear Lauren say.

"Unfortunately not, I can't wait for the day he does though." I think Aaliyah replies. I shrug off the feeling that he is still hiding a massive secret from me and continue with the popcorn making.

8 hours later and we have only just finished our movie marathon. It is currently 5:30 and Aaliyah and Lauren have just left leaving me to tidy up our mess.

I start picking up the glasses and mugs we've used and the dishes that used to contain popcorn or sweets.  I never expected 3 girls could make such a mess. 

"Did you have fun, sweetie?" My mum asks as she walks through the door.

"Yep" I say reflecting on my lazy girl day.

"I'm making cottage pie for tea." She says setting her bags on the counter top.  My stomach starts to become hungrier and hungrier at the thought.  Just 10 minutes ago I was full to busting but at the sound of a good homemade cottage pie it immediately became empty - magic.

"I'm sorry we don't talk a lot." My mum says breaking the silence as I eat another spoonful of pie.

"It's fine." I say ignoring eye contact and the fact that I do feel very lonely when mum is always at work. However, our bond has began to get a whole lot better.

"Anyways, I heard that you and Shawn are finally a couple now." She says happily.

"What do you mean finally?" I ask wanting to know if she knows something I don't.

"Well, the first day we came to Pickering you went into his shop and I saw how you met and it was extremely cute. Also, the way he looked at you gave it all away" she explains getting up to wash the dishes.

Meanwhile, I reflect on what's happened since then to now. Everything has changed! I've met my brother, fallen in love, made friends, and became truly happy. Life's great.

"Hey mum, I'm going to go out for an hour or two." I shout down to the kitchen.

"Okay, be careful!" She replies giving me permission. I put on my coat and shoes, I walk out of the house and call Shawn.

"Hey Shawn."

"Hey Charley"

"Want to do something? I'm bored." I ask hoping he will agree.

"Yes, of course. It might be our only time before I go back on to- my trip." He strangely corrects himself.

"Okay..." I say warily.

"Meet you in front of the music store in 20?"

"I'll see you then." I say ending the call before he can say 'bye'.
