Me Before You(Camren)

Chapter 9

After the days get longer I can't help myself but to always have Camila on my mind. I hate seeing her like this and I hate that I have to watch her die a little more everyday. I was doing some research last night and I had I plan. I wanted to do a lung transplant in her but with experience I know those are really tricky. But that was my last resort. I've already thought about it a month ago and I put a word in for her and my head boss said it'll be the right move. I just hope she can survive this.

Ring! Ring! Ugh who can it be at this time of night I looked over at the clock. 3:03am it said. I reach over and grab my phone.

"Hello. I said calmly trying to keep my composer.

"We have someone for you to do the transplant Dr. Jauregui. The doctor I suppose said.

"Wow seriously doctor! That was quick. I said

"Yes Dr. Jauregui. There was a really bad car crash late yesterday evening. Her name was Sinu Cabello. Her and her husband got into a crash with their daughter in the back seat. A truck hit them on the passenger side. Only causing on fatal death out of the three. The child has a broken bone and the father only has an concussion. I couldn't hear anymore I was already shocked by what name he said. Sinu Cabello I repeated in my head that was Camila's mom. I dropped the phone and everything went blank. I had nothing to say. Didn't have anything to do I was just shocked by the news. Even though Camila's mom abandoned her at one point her and her mom was close before Sofi was born. I didn't know what to say. Nobody knew of this but my family and Camila's family. Now her mom was gone leaving her sister with her father.

"Dr. Jauregui! Dr. Jauregui! I forgot he was still on the phone.

"Yes I'm sorry but Mrs. Cabello was my patients mom. I said I didn't know why I was getting teary eyed but I knew this was gonna hurt Camila.

"Dr. Jauregui I'm so sorry for her lost all my condolences. He said

"Thanks but I have to go I need to get to the hospital and tell Camila. I said I hung up as soon as possible jumping out of the bed and getting my keys. I really didn't care if I was in my pajamas at this point I just needed to get to Camila.

Arriving at the hospital I ran as fast as I could to the entrance.

"Dr. Jauregui what are you doing here! Ally yelled. But I had no time to stop I needed to tell Camz.

I walked into her room and kneeled down by her bed. I grabbed her hand.

"Camz wake up. I said softly but to no avail she didn't even budge. "Camz I said a little louder it made her stir and a few seconds later she opened her eyes.

"Oh hey Lo is it time for my chemo already? She asked confused. She was always adorable when she wakes up and I started to smile but then I remembered why I was here. "Lauren what's wrong? She said

"Camila they found you a transplant... She looked at me and smiled you could see the hope in her eyes. "It's your mom. I said and she froze and looked at me. I didn't know what she was feeling she just wore a blank expression. "Camz I said your mo..that's all I managed to say before she interrupted me.

"I heard you. She said and that's all she said no expression no kind of tone just a dry "I heard you." I didn't get it why wasn't she sad.

"Are you okay Camz? I asked looking at her with a blank expression as well.

"Yes why wouldn't I be I'm fine. I just couldn't believe she was taking it this well but she was and I didn't know weather to be happy or sad for her.

"I mean because it's your mom. I pointed out

"She stopped being my mom since we were teenagers Lauren I really don't think she deserves my tears or sympathy. She said cold-heartedly.

"I understand that Camz but she still is your mom even though she abandoned you. I said

"That's the point Lauren she left me on the streets and if your family wasn't nice enough to let me stay I would've been alone God knows where. She had a point and I understood that but it's her mom still but I decided not to push it.

"Camila I... It shocked me what I heard next.

"Kiss me Lauren. She said and I paused because I didn't know if she was serious right now or not. " Kiss me I missed you lips just kiss me. She said

That's all I needed was reassurance. I put my hand and her cheek and rubbed my thumb against her cheek and it was cold I looked her in the eye and leaned in. When our lips connected I was taken aback to when we were teens hopelessly in love with each other. But that stopped as soon as it started I tasted a salty tears on my lips and I pulled back and she had tears streaming down her face.

"Hey? Hey Camz it's gonna be okay I'm here remember I'm not going anywhere okay I promised you remember I'm here forever. I said wiping her tears away.

"But I might not be Lauren. I probably won't make it. She said

"Camz don't think like that you will I promise you will just believe in me. I will get you better I swear just trust me okay that's all I'm asking is for you to trust me. I kissed her cheek my hand was still on the other one cupping her face and I felt her slim fingers wrap around mine.

"Okay I do Lauren I do. She said it made me so sad but I knew I have to save her or I'd lose her forever and I wasn't ready for her to go. I needed her as much as she needed me. I just got her back and I don't wanna lose her again.

So here's chapter 9 hope you enjoy and what's your thought on Sinu do you think Camila should care or not? I hope the Camren kiss was okay I didn't really know how to incorporate it into the story but this is what I came up with. Vote!
