Me Before You(Camren)

chapter 12

For the last couple days me and Camz we're always together. Except for when I had other things to take care of. Today is Saturday though I'm not excited for today this is the day Camila gets her transplant. I'm scared and nervous because I want this surgery to go smoothly. Ever since me and Camila met we've always been close.

I was walking down the back ally to get to my house. But I heard whimpering.

"Hello is anyone here? I said walking slowly towards the noise I was scared shitless because usually no one comes back here because of the darkness.

As I rounded the corner of the dumpster there was a girl curled up in a ball sobbing. I kneeled down beside her and put my hand on her shoulder but she flinched away.

"Hey, hey it's okay I'm Lauren what about you I asked her. She slowly lifted her head the first thing I noticed was her tear stained cheeks. I wiped the pad of my thumb across her cheeks to stop the tears from falling.

I..I'm Camila she said with her voice coming out shaky..

"Hey Camila why are you sitting by the dumpster crying may I ask... I said which only made her cry more.

"My parents kicked me out.. I have nowhere to stay or sleep I have no money at all and I'm hungry and scared.. she said I don't know why but I felt something in my heart tell me that is was my responsibility to help this girl. I held my hand out for her to grab it. She looked at my hand for a couple of seconds then she reached up and grabbed it. Her skin was ice cold and her hands were small but they fit in mine so perfectly.

"You do have a place to stay and you don't have to be scared. My parents have an extra room and you can stay there until you get on your feet my parents won't mind. Stop crying I'm here I promise. I said I felt like I knew her that I would know her for a long time after this. I grabbed her hand and started walking out the ally towards my house and she held her head down the whole time.

We stepped in the house quickly locking the door and walked up the stairs towards my room. I opened my door and told her to sit on my bed while I got her some clothes so she could take a shower in my bathroom.

"You can take a shower in there. I pointed towards the door. "I'll be downstairs in the living room when your finished I'll show you your room okay?" I asked and she nodded so I walked out the room and closed the door.

About 45 minutes later she was walking in the living room stopping right in front of me. She was gorgeous under all the dirt and tear stained cheeks she had amazing tan skin.

"Are you ready? I asked and she nodded I stepped around her walking back up the stairs for the second time tonight. We came around a corner and I opened the door for her.

"This is where you'll sleep if you need me my room is just around that corner. I said

"Okay thank you very much she said and I nodded.

"Do you go to school? I asked and she nodded a yes. "Okay well tomorrow I'll wake you up for school and we can go together okay? She nodded again "Goodnight Camila. I said walking towards the door.

"Goodnight Lauren" I heard her say softly.

Later that night I heard my door creeping open when I opened my eyes I seen Camila standing over me.

"Yes can I help you? I asked she looked hesitant but nodded a yes.

"Can I umm sleep with you I'm scared in the room by myself. She said and I looked at her for a second before nodding and scooting over for her to lay down. I turned the other way an layed back down and went to sleep not before whispering a goodnight again..

I smiled at the memory of the girl who stole my heart 5 years ago. I wouldn't change knowing Camila for the world she was kind hearted and cared about everyone she never really put herself first. I knew having your parents disowning you and telling you that you're nothing and never will be was hard for her. She had a little sister named Sofi and she loved that little girl to death and now Sofi doesn't even know if Camila is dead or alive. That's not even Camila's fault her family didn't care enough for her she was alone every night they always left her out. She had to raise herself basically and it's not fair not being able to have a family who loves you. But Camila was the kind of person who didn't even care how people treated her..

"Look it ole little miss has no family" Becky pushed Camila against the locker.

"No wonder why your family left you. Your not even with the dirt on my shoes" Becky spat

"Please just let me go I'll stay away I promise" Camila begged Becky only started to laugh and brought her knee up into Camila's stomach. Camila doubled over in pain clinching her stomach.

"Let her go! I ran towards Camila and Becky. Camila looked up at me with her tears running down her face. Becky let her go and started walking towards me.

"And what exactly are you supposed to do Lauren? Becky said Lauren didn't answer she just brought her hand to Becky's face with a loud slap. Becky held her face in shock

"Don't ever come by Camila again and not even look at her or next time it'll be worse. She said picking up the crying girl off the floor in bridal style.

"Lo I can walk by myself" Camila giggled

"Nunuh I don't want you to walk Miss Cabello you deserve someone to catch you when you fall I wink at Camz and she started to laugh giving up on saying anything about me letting her down

I sighed sitting back in my chair thinking about how so much have changed since I was younger..
