Chapter 10: Namsan Tower 남산타워

Min Chi

  The cold wind, strongly blew the hair that was covering my face. I was looking at the lamp lighted streets from my window. Some of the people that were roaming around the streets of Seoul were couples, and some were just plain and ordinary people.


  I look at the clock that was on my study table, 6:00 it said. I sighed and turn my attention at the clouds. At that moment, I felt the wind becoming stronger, it's getting chilly. I thought as I look down at my diary that was on my lap. It was a small red polka dotted notebook with a writing saying 'Min Ji's Diary'. It was a birthday present from my dad when I was 6.


  It was a special gift for me 'cause, it came from my dad who, at that time, was still a caring father, who has a lot of time for his children. I guess, it was just a dream, huh?


  As I was staring at the rooftops, I felt that sudden drop of liquid at the tip of my nose. I couldn't figure out what was happening until I put my index finger at the tip of my nose, while looking at the sky. It was dark and grey like the sad days.


  As I flickered my eyes, I saw the image of Baekhyun from earlier. "Meet me at the Namsan Tower..." the words kept ringing at my head as I heard Baekhyun's voice. "...If you're late, you'll regret it." I finished the sentence with a sad face.


  I know all about it, it's just that... I'll accompany Yoon Ji to the grocery store. It was my mother's orders, I can't just escape to that. I came back to reality and shook my head as I stand up and put my red polka dotted notebook on my study table's left drawer. 


  "Kim Chi-ah! 가자! (let's go)" Yoon Ji said from the door. I hummed an 'mmm' tone as I nodded my head, closing the drawer. I turn around and grab my jacket from the back of the door. Yoon Ji waited for me, resting her hand against the door knob. I opened it and saw Yoon Ji who was about to fall, but she remained in her senses and stood up properly.


  I let out a hysterical laugh along with Yoon Ji. "C'mon, let's go." Yoon Ji said once we stopped laughing. I nodded and followed Yoon Ji downstairs.

  Walking step by step as I followed the petite brunette in front of me. She was looking around and kept checking the list of items she will buy, and here I am finding an apology gift for Baekhyun. It's 6:30 in the evening and we're about to go home. I'll just find the perfect gift for Baekhyun while Yoon Ji's at the meat station. 


  Leaving the cart, I managed to escape while Yoon Ji wasn't looking. I went to the candy station, I stared at the Teddy Bear jar that contains a lot of assorted candies inside. It was just a simple yet imported candies that I always ask my mother to buy it for me.


  "He won't like it if I go to school tomorrow with no apology gift." I mumbled to myself as I put my hands on the sides of the Teddy Bear jar, thinking if I should buy it. Something was stopping me. "What if I'll just go right now?" I asked myself as I put my right hand down.


  I furrowed my eye brows, doubting if I'll be on time. I'll need a bus to go to the Namsan Tower, but it will take 30 minutes. But it just rained or, I think it's raining, considering the fact that some people are carrying their umbrellas. Curse the distance between us. I thought as I made a pissed look and rolled my eyes. I took the blue Teddy Bear Jar as I ran to the counter. After paying it, I went to the Meat Station.


  As I scanned the place, looking for Yoon Ji, I look at the Teddy Bear Jar. It was a see through jar so I can see all the candies inside, and one thing caught my eye. I saw a white teddy bear inside. It was the same size as my hand. A cute and fluffy teddy bear! Wow! Their giving away these toys?! Aigoo, why haven't I heard of this?


  Wait, what should I name him?  "Baek Chi?" I ask myself raising an eye brow. "No, that's quite ugly." I said shaking my head. "Ahah!" I said with my index finger raising. "I shall name him Kim Hyun!" I thought as I grinned and hugged it.


  I saw Yoon Ji at the meat shop looking around. I ran towards her, still hugging the Teddy Bear Jar. "Where have you been? And don't tell me you just bought that Teddy Bear Jar again 'cause you have a lot in your room." Yoon Ji complained as she pointed to the blue Teddy Bear Jar. I held it tightly, as if, she was going to take Kim Hyun away from me.


  "It's an apology gift for Baekhyun. Speaking of Baekhyun, Yoon Ji, can I go now? I have to meet him." I said to her patting her back and ran off. "EH!" Yoon Ji yelled, I look back with my mouth open ear to ear, waving my right hand, still running. I look at my way again.


  I ran towards the bus stop, panting as I rested my hands on my knees. I took my handkerchief and wipe my salty sweat away. Just then, a bus stopped. I smiled at the driver who opened the bus door. I grab on the railings and look for a vacant seat.

  I grab my collar and started to pull it up and down creating a soft and relaxing air for myself. I look at my watch, 6:45. Quarter to 7?! I look at the window and saw the Namsan Tower. Feeling a bit happy and overwhelmed I made a fist and raised. "Yes!" I softly shouted. The passengers all looked at me like I was some kind of a crazy retard.


  "Eheh.." I said as I slowly put my hand down, the fist disappearing as I bowed multiple times. The passengers rolled their eyes as they look at their window again. I look around, assuring that no one is still looking at me, I stood up and grab the railings.


  "Stop!" I shouted. The driver look at me by the mirror and stopped. Nodding my head, I hopped off the bus. As the bus drove away, I look around. There were still people taking their time to stroll around the pretty and breath taking view of the Namsan Tower. 


  Mostly, there were couples and I couldn't help but look at them with a smile on my face. I really love it when I see couples being all lovey dovey in front of me, but I hate it when it comes to me and another boy.


  "Quit drooling around. You look like a complete idiot." someone shouted which made all the couples to turn around, finding the mysterious voice. He obviously has a walkey talkey with him. I thought as I rolled my eyes and look around to find the mysterious guy.


  "Ya! Kim Chi! What's that thing that you're carrying? A present for me?" the voice continued and this time I was surprised and startled at the same time. Okay, embarrassed too, I guess, but that isn't the point! How did he know my name? I'm pretty sure from all the people around here, I'm the only person who is named Kim Chi.


  "Still not moving? Let's see then." As the mysterious guy voice ended his message a boy came up to me. He was a cute little boy that, I think, is around Hyong Min's age. I smiled and bent my knees a little bit. He was carrying 3 small red boxes.


  "Are you Kim Chi?" the boy asked me with his cute voice. I grinned letting myself drown at his cuteness. "Yes, I'm Kim Chi. You are?" I ask him, kneeling down so I can meet his eyes. "The boy who asked me to give you this told me to not give any unnecessary details." the boy answered.


  I smiled at him showing that I understand. "Is that so? Well, I don't accept this things if it's a stranger." I said folding my hands as I smirked. "But I will be sad if you don't accept it." he said while pouting with those puppy eyes.


  I scrunched my nose and giggled. "Okay, okay. I'll accept it, but, by any chance, is the boy handsome?" I asked him giving in to his total cuteness as I accepted the gift. It's official this boy is the cutest boy I've ever seen. >o<


  He chuckled at my sudden question. "You'll figure it out.." and with that he ran off. It was the cutest thing that I have ever seen. He was running like a penguin. Did I mention that his quite chubby? Well he is and I like chubby children.


  "Asking my nine-year-old nephew if I'm handsome? Well, I am. You're just blind, Kim Chi." the voice suddenly said as I look around, carrying the Teddy Bear Jar and the 3 boxes. "Where are you?" I shouted.


  "Up here!" the voice answered and I look up following the voice. My eyes couldn't handle it. My heart beat was rising uncontrollably. My eyes are so wide that I'm like an owl that's looking at you at night. My stomach doing an Olympic flip flop. 


  It was all too sudden. It's Byun Baekhyun.

That was the most epic cliff hanger ever. Haha. I'm so sorry, it's just that I'm in the mood of cliff hanging you 'cause I was too disappointed by the stories that has a cliff hanger. Screw them. -_- Anyways, I didn't come to the concert 'cause I had a meeting with my fellow scholar friends in the school. "Attendance was a must". So, I had no choice but to attend the Scholar Meeting. Nevertheless, it was fun. ^_^ I just hope that 2NE1 will have another concert.
