Chapter 4

Alexis’ P.O.V

*Two years before – 2012*

I was bored at school waiting for the bell announcing the break to ring. First year of high school was being so boring, the only thing good about it was the fact that I could be closer to Ashton more often. Ashton Irwin, my best friend and to be exact, the only one I ever had. I was never a friendly person, not that I was some kind of bad person or something like that but I just didn’t interact too well with people usually so I allowed myself to simply have one true friend than millions of fake ones.

When the bell finally rang I automatically ran outside the classroom to be stopped by those big and muscled arms.

“Wooow! Not so fast Clifford!” Ashton said and I giggled hugging him.

“What’s up Irwin?” I asked while he messed up my hair. He was two years older than me so he was already in the last year of high school which meant I’d have two more years in that hell without him, how could I possibly survive.

“Nothing much and guess what? I’m not having the next class!” He yelled proud of himself and I partied with him.

“That means I’m skipping mine.” I affirmed and he made a disapproval look “Don’t look at me like that, I wanna spend more time with you since you’re the only friend I actually have and…”

“No, no way you’re skipping class because of me Lexi! Your dad would kill me and besides I’m meeting some friends you would probably be bored.”

“Aff, I might like them.” I tried to convince him but it didn’t work “C’mon Ash! I’m so bored here, next class I have is biology and I don’t need it for anything, it’s not like I want to be some biologist.”

“That’s not how things are missy! But…aff when will I be able to say no to you?” I might have screamed a bit and then jumped to his arms “You’re the best Irwin!”

“By the way, I’m not meeting any friends. That was just an excuse for you to go to class.” Obviously I knew that since the beginning so I nodded laughing.

There wasn’t much to see or do at the school so we left to somewhere cool. We probably walked half an hour in an huge but comfortable silence. It was always like that, me and him, we could just stay hours and hours without saying a single word, just appreciating each other’s company and that was why I loved him so much.

“I’m tired.” I confessed sitting in a park bench next us and Ashton sat right next to me.

“Weak.”

“Excuse me?” I pretended to be offended and he opened one of the most amazing smiles ever. “I’ll miss you…” I finally confessed to him after some more minutes of silence.

“You have no idea how I’ll miss you so much more.” I shook my head knowing it couldn’t be truth, he could never miss me as much as I would miss him. “Don’t you shook on me Clifford! But hey! Look, we’ll be able to see each other during weekends and all that.”

“You’ll probably be working or busy doing some stuff.” I said a bit annoying and he rolled his eyes.

“You should be happy that I got a job.” I nodded and he carefully hold my hand “Look Lexi, you know I’ll never leave you alone, no matter what. You’re too important to me.”

“Right back atch ya.” I replied and he giggled blushing. He always had a crush on me and I knew it, he just wouldn’t admit because I was younger than him and seemed like it was too embarrassing for guys to like younger girls “Can you do me a favour?”
