My life with Sora was happy and couldn't have been happier. As the years went by, I became more content with him as he did with me and we were a happy family. Hikari took up a liking for farming just like Sora and it was hard getting her out of the dirt. Even I got a job writing for the local newspaper in our town but it wasn't anything that would keep me away from my family.
Sora and I even eventually had another child. A Son. He was born when Hikari was only five but we were really glad to have an addition to our beautiful family.
His name was Daichi Watanabe.
Earth.
He wasn't like Sora, personality wise but he was a beautiful child with wide intelligent eyes. He was always reluctant when it came to trying something new, unlike Sora who was always open to suggestion.
He didn't like farming or dirt very much and most times he would stay home with me and just be reading or playing with his building blocks. He was quiet and Hikari was a blooming sunshine, their differences contrasting greatly but they were still great children.
Our life was a blossom of happiness.
"Mom, I don't want to go."
"Daichi, I going as well so it'll be alright."
He shrugged, his expression neutral but reluctance was in his eyes.
"Alright."
"Hey, what are you doing?" Hikari asked while looking between us. She had a little gardening shovel in her hand and a hat on, looking like the true sweet heart she was.
Sora was sitting on the porch, looking out into the fields afar keenly but his face was still holding warmth and light.
"We've got a lot of work today." He said while still looking out.
Daichi shifted on his feet a little and stared at the ground.
I knew he felt a little awkward because he wasn't like his father or Hikari even though he tried to be but Sora and I were perfectly okay with that because he was our son and like me in most ways.
"Hey, come here!" I beckoned to him. He gazed at me a little reluctantly before shrugging and coming beside me.
"Yeah." He asked dully.
"Do you want me to tell you that poem I wrote again?" I beamed.
He perked up and his eyes glowed uncharacteristically as he nodded.
Hearing this, even Hikari and Sora looked over at us.
"I want to hear it."
"Okay." I began.
"The girl who fell in love with the sky.
His glow was warm, his light was sweet, she felt safe under his gaze,
Her beauty was abundant, her love was great but it wasn't enough for her to touch the sky.
He gave her Light, she gave him the Earth for she could touch the sky.
The distance between them that was too impossible, love filled it and made it possible.
Forever they lived in bliss, never again to part ways."
Hikari giggled and I glanced over at Sora, even after so many years warmth flushed into his face.
"This poem is really nice."
"Yeah, I know. I wrote it years ago before you two were born."
"Really?" Hikari asked, wide eyed.
"Yeah, I wrote it for a newspaper company in the city and I was going to move there but I decided to stay with Sora."
"Dad?" Daichi looked over at his father and smiled.
"I like that poem because it has our names in it." Hikari added.
"Really, how do you know that?" I asked, amused.
"Hikari means light and Daichi means earth."
I bobbed my head, agreeing with her but Daichi frowned.
"I don't know why I was named Daichi, I don't like it. Everyone makes fun of me at school." He complained.
"I like my name and no one makes fun of me, besides Daichi fits you."
"Hmm."
I smiled at them both as they continued to agree and disagree about aspects of their names. In an odd way they were like smaller versions of Sora and I.
"Fumiko?"
"Yeah, what is it?" I asked, turning to Sora. He beckoned to me so I went closer to him, my Kimono restricting my movements a little.
Before I could react he pulled me into a kiss, his hand on the back of my head. Heat flushed my cheeks and Hikari and Daichi instantly paused their bickering and gazed at us.
"Mom!, Dad!" Hikari exclaimed while heat flushed Daichi's face.
"Sorry." I apologized and Sora laughed.
"Sorry as well." Sora said brightly while tugging at his own Kimono. "I couldn't help it."
It was really amazing, even after so many years, the flame of our love didn't go out. It did become a little more mature though but it was still the same.
"Do you think we can stop by grandmother and grandfather Saito later?"
"Maybe." Sora smiled.
"Come on, let's go. The day is wasting."
Daichi looked at me oddly but I smiled.
"The hard work of today will make the best for tomorrow."
"Um, right." Daichi nodded.
"That's right! That's our saying, right Dad!?" Hikari asked, running off the porch.
"Yes, that's right." He agreed.
I got up and we started walking towards the fields together, my face beaming when I looked at all of them because I knew the best of my tomorrow was today.
