"No matter wherever you go, in whatever time or space, I will always find my way back to you. No one can keep us apart. This vow I will take upon the ancient Gods. I will love you and only you even when we go into the afterlife and even when we reincarnate, I'll find you and fall in love with you over and over again. For you, my love, my heart, my life, and my soul forever belong to you tied by the hands of fate."
I was floating in the background, another dream of that girl and her soul mate. She was lucky to have found someone like him to love her forever. A love like theirs was hard to find. It would have been nice to have what they have but that was a dream that I doubt would never happen.
'That won't ever happen... no one would ever think to love you'
I sigh as the world vanished into the darkness. My dark side was surrounding me. I was trapped inside my mind again after a very long time.
"Yes, I know that."
'Then why do you still have hope?'
"Because in the world that I live in, hope is the only thing I have," I whispered. An invisible wall was behind me and I leaned against it.
"Why did you stop me from killing him," I asked her.
'Because you didn't have a good reason to kill him,' She paused before answering.
"Are you forgetting that he almost killed both of us!"
'He killed your human shell. I was still recovering from the seal you put on me two years ago!' She huffed. No... She was hiding something...
"What are you hiding from me?" I asked her as I thought of the many secrets that she has hidden from me.
My Darkside scowled, 'Why should I tell you anything?! It's not like it will make a difference if you knew.'
"Yes, it will make a difference! You stopped me from hurting him but you were completely fine when he hurt me when he was hurting the both of us!" I yelled and stood up as I felt my side of my darkness manifest and hit the glass behind me.
My Darkside snickered, 'My dear sweet Serah, you're forgetting that without me, you are nothing more than a useless vessel. I control who you are supposed to be. You want to know what you are besides a vessel, fine I'll tell you what you're been dying to know all these years...'
She came through the glass surrounding me, 'You are only the prison that is keeping me trapped inside here. You're nothing, absolutely nothing, why do you think you've been experimented on all these years?!'
I could only sigh at her words. I knew all of that already. I was a useless creature in my eyes but in the eyes of Iracundia... I was the most powerful being ever to be born, a cursed child.
"Why can't we get along?"
And then there was silence...
"I'm tired of fighting with you... is it possible for us to get along? You have been with me for so long-"
'We did get along once...' she whispered reverting to the other side of the glass.
'But that was before the experiments began.' I felt her form her fists into a punch and slammed her fist through the glass. Dark shards fell over me and I stood up. I knew she was behind me.
"You are stronger than me and you can help me fight and in return, I will lend you my body." I knew the price I had to pay. She was my dark side and I had to accept her.
'Do you even know what you're proposing?" She cackled.
"I just want us to get along as we used to. And I'm tired..."
'Then just let me take over you for good. It would make things easier.' I could feel her smirk under the darkness and I turned to face her. My eyes got used to the darkness and I could see her form clearly. Her hair was the color of darkness and her eyes... it was gold... She was my opposite. This was her true form.
"One day you will. And when that time comes, I will let myself fall and you can take over. I won't fight you. This I promise you but for now, help me. Let's work together. I have to stop the prophecy, I want revenge and I want to find out the truth." I held out my hand for her to shake.
'I will take over your body whenever I see fit and you will allow me. I will help you with whatever schemes you have. But I also want to have some fun. After all... I am your dark side... I know all about your desires and weaknesses and I think I want to have some fun now.' She shook my hand and the pact was sealed. And the seal that I had put on her was undone.
"Oh no, you don't. You will not use my body to sleep around with other caelestians!" I pouted.
'It's not as if you're still a virgin. Don't worry, I will just play with them and I do want to kill some people as well. Hmmm, I know what I can do...'
"Don't harm the caelestians that we love." I grabbed her hand warning her.
'It's not like there are people that love you anyway, so what's the use of protecting them?'
"Aremiah." I only had to say our sister's name for her to understand that there still were people that we cared about.
"From now on we'll share my body. So we'll both have control. Don't try to take control because I will be here to make sure that you don't; besides, I already promised you and I haven't broken my promises."
She may have been my Darkside, but I controlled our emotions. Whereas I was the weak one and relied on my emotions but her... she was the fearless emotionless brave side of me. I needed her and I was tired of sealing her. I never should have done that. To survive on Terrae, I had to seal my other half for two years, but no more.
'You should trust in him...' she whispered
"Trust in who?" I questioned.
'In Dante.'
