-Athena-

We walk down the hallway in silence until an all too familiar face walks through a set of double doors, "Elena?"

"Well, fancy meeting you here," Klaus smirks deviously.

"Klaus," She whispers. He grabs her arm and I follow them as he storms towards the gym. Elena looks back at me, and once again I fear for her life. This is it. This is the reason Klaus' hybrids aren't working because she's still alive.

"You were suppose to be dead. What are we going to do about that?" He asks.

We enter the gym and Klaus puts on the performance of his life, "Attention seniors! You have been busted. Senior prank night is officially over! Head on home!" He spots Dana and some boy and stops them, "You two. I remember you."

"I'm sorry who are you?" Dana asks. The beauty of compulsion.

"Don't worry, I wasn't in my right mind last time we spoke. Lift your foot up for me please Dana," He compels, his pupils dilated. She lifts it up and looks at the boy confused, "Chad, if she drops her foot I want you to beat her to death."

"Klaus don't! You don't have to hurt anybody," Elena hisses.

"Come on love, of course I do," Klaus smiles bitterly.

"It's in his nature to be an ass 24/7," I look at him, "He doesn't sleep, just schemes."

"Athena, what is going on? Where is Stefan?" Elena asks.

"I'd imagine sitting in the truck with his head snapped. Klaus and his paranoid self thought that he was hiding something here."

"Obviously that paranoia got me somewhere," Klaus leans towards Elena's neck, "Because I found out you were still breathing."

Suddenly the doors open, Bonnie and Matt step into the gym, "Bonnie get out of here now!" Elena yells to them.

"Ah she's here. We can finally get started," Klaus speeds up to Bonnie, "I assume you're the reason Elena is still alive."

"That's right. If you want to blame someone, blame me," Stupid Bonnie, she's too brave.

"No need for blame, love. It just seems your witchy interference caused some undesirable side effects. Since you cause the problem, I'm going to have you find the fix."

Rebekah walks in holding Tyler Lockwood in her arms, "This is Rebekah. Our other sister," I introduce.

"Heads up, she can be quite mean," Klaus teases.

"Don't be an ass," She scolds.

"It's not possible," I respond and she smiles.

Rebekah pushes Tyler into Klaus' arms, "Leave him alone!" Elena warns.

"I'm going to make this rather simple. Every time I attempt to turn a werewolf," He motions to Tyler, "Into a vampire hybrid, they die during the transition. It's quite horrible actually," He feeds Tyler his blood and looks at Bonnie, "I need you to find a way to save my hybrids Bonnie, and for Tyler's sake. You better hurry," He snaps the poor boys neck.

"He killed him," Matt states and bends over Tyler's body.

"He's not dead. Klaus' blood will turn him into a hybrid," I say.

"That's only if Bonnie is successful. Bonnie go find the spell," I say and point to the door.

"Yes, I'll hold onto Elena, for safe keeping," Klaus smiles and grabs Elena's arm. They run out and go to find the fix.

"So this is the latest doppelgänger," Rebekah says and looks Elena up and down, "The original one was much prettier." I smile slightly, only at the joke. Elena is still one of my friends, and I don't want to see her die again.

"That's quite enough Rebekah, take the wolf boy elsewhere," Klaus shoos her away. She sighs and drags Tyler's body outside of the gym.

"Just ignore my sister," He smiles at me, "Petty little thing."

-Athena-

"Klaus, what is your end game here? Find the solution and what? Carry on making more hybrids?" I ask impatiently. We'd been waiting nearly an hour.

"I plan on siring myself a new species. We both know that I'd spend an eternity alone otherwise," He responds bitterly.

"That's what this is about? You don't want to be alone?" I ask astonished. All this time, for Christ sakes he has five siblings! He is not alone.

"You are pathetic, Niklaus," I roll my eyes.

                      "Loss the attitude."

"You know what? No, I won't loss the attitude! We've been alive over 1000 years! You didn't even stop to think about how many people you had surrounding you?" I laugh sourly, "You had five siblings who loved you, but then you went and killed our mother."

                        "That's enough," He snaps.

"Oh but that's right, you never got the chance. You just daggered everyone up. Too paranoid to believe we actually cared for you," I turn to Elena, "That's why I left you know. I'd rather spend a lifetime running than a lifetime in a box all daggered up. Luckily that hasn't happened to me yet," I explain. Elena looks at me confused, yet smug that I'm putting my brother in his place.

"Your luck may run out. See while we were in Chicago, I happened to visit an old house I occupied. That is where I kept the infamous fifth dagger. See I was saving it for a certain time, but seeing as you're being a brat I might as well now," He pulls out the long silver dagger from his jacket pocket and I freeze.

I had yet to run in with one of these daggers, and to be honest they scared me shitless. I begin to walk slowly backwards and Klaus smiles at me, "You know, this time Kol won't be there to help you run away. So what will you do then?" He walks towards me like a predator on its prey.

I turn around to speed away only to come face to face with him. He stakes the dagger in my heart and picks me up bridal style, "Sweet dreams, dearest sister."

                         My entire world goes black.
