-Flashback-

Rebekah and I walk through the little jewelry shop owned by the witch Ayana. Rebekah touches a beautiful necklace with a tiny red gem in the middle. She suddenly pulls back and hisses, "Ayanna you burned me? I was only touching it."

"That is not yours to touch, or take for that matter," Ayanna scolds.

"Mother!" My seventeen year old self snapped her head.

"Is that Niklaus?" Rebekah questions as we both run out of the shop.

Niklaus holds the youngest Mikaelson brother in his arms and cries out again, "Mother!"

"Henrik!" I cry and kneel down next to Niklaus, "What has happened?" I look at my dead twins body.

"The wolves, I'm sorry. I'm so sorry," Nik sobs and looks at Henrik's dead body.

"Ayanna, we must call upon the spirits! They can give us a way to bring him back!" Ester, our mother cries to Ayanna.

"The spirits will not give us a way. I am sorry Ester, your boy is gone," Ayanna says slightly sympathetic.

"Come here brother, we will clean you off," I sniffle and take Nik's hands, leading him away from the scene.

That time was dark, but not the darkest of moments the Mikaelson family had. Later that night our mother would conjure a darkness so strong that a new species would rise. Vampirism was born that very night.

Gasping I shoot up in my place and cough. Where was I? Memories from what felt like just hours before replayed in my mind. Elena was alive, Rebekah was undaggered, and Klaus had daggered me. Bastard.

I cautiously get out of the bed I was laying in. It was lavender, my favorite color. In fact the whole room was filled with colors, scents, and many other things that I loved. Where am I? I nearly don't notice Elijah standing outside the door until he coughs, "Dear sister, I believe it is time we reunite our whole family. Don't you?"

"Why of course. I shall fetch Rebekah. Where is her room?" A sinister smile plays on my lips. This was going to be too fun. Klaus would finally get what was coming to him.

He points to the door to the left of my room and I nod. Cautiously I open the door to find Rebekah's desiccated body lying peacefully on her bed. Just like mine, hers was filled with her favorite things. So this was Klaus' version of a family home?

I pull the dagger out of her chest and after a few moments of waiting, she sits up, "I'm going to kill that doppelgänger bitch."

"Elena did this to you?" I ask shocked and betrayed. I thought Elena was a friend of mine.

"Athena! Thank god you're here," She hugs me and I hug back.

"Let's go cause havoc. This is one persons fault, Niklaus," I lead the way down the stairs to find Elijah holding three daggers. One for Kol, Finn, and I.

"What have you done?" Klaus asks.

"See, I've learned not to trust your vulgar promises, Niklaus," He says, "Were doing this on my terms now."

Kol struts in through another door and looks at Klaus, "Kol I-"

"Long time brother," He smiles and Klaus tried to speed past him, but is stopped by our other brother, Finn. I haven't seen him in nearly 900 years.

"Finn, don't-" Finn glares at our brother and stabs the stake into his palm.

Klaus cries out in pain and speeds our way. Rebekah stops him and he looks at us, "Rebekah, Athena-"

Rebekah stabs the dagger into his stomach and he lurks forward, "This is for our mother."

I stab my dagger into his shoulder and spit at his feet, "That's for keeping me around just so you could dagger me."

Elijah shoos away the Salvatore brothers, who were smugly watching the whole scene, "You two are dismissed. This is family business."

"Oh this will be fun, Niklaus."

"I like what you've done with the place, Nik," Rebekah throws a vase across the room.

"It was meant to be for us, all of us. A place we could call home. A place where we could be a family again. None of us would have to be alone again," He looks at me with tear filled eyes.

"You're right. None of us will be. See we're leaving you behind, dear brother," I smile.

"Right after I kill that doppelgänger wench. Then you will truly be alone. Always and forever," Rebekah recites our small age old promise. Always and forever.

"If you run I will hunt all of you down," His threat is directed towards me. Probably due to the fact I've run before.

"Then you will become everything you hate. Our father," Elijah states.

"I'm the hybrid! I cannot be killed!" He yells and I flinch slightly, "I have nothing to fear from any of you," He spits.

"You know, I've been informed that you killed not one, but both of our parents. Something tells me we're about to become your worst nightmare," I say hotly.

"Especially when we have that coffin," Elijah had told me about some coffin that was with our three brothers. It contains something able to kill Klaus.

Klaus looks at Elijah sadly and we all turn around at the sound of heels clicking on the marble. Tears slip down my cheeks as I utter a word I thought would never be used again, "Mother?"
