Chapter 14

-Kevin-

My eyes crack then widen as I come to. I notice the room is dark and I was alone.

Where....where am I? Where is anybody?

I throw of the blanket that came no higher than my waist. I appear completely fine. I stand slowly, but stumble. Trying to regain my balance, I lean over and turn on the lamp.

Oh, this is just my room.

Turning for the door, I turn the knob and pull, cracking the door somewhat.

"Kevin! You're up!" Alix gasps, hugging me tightly. I nuzzle his neck with my head, like a kitten to its mother, and smile faintly. I don't want to let go. So confused and hurt, this is when I need him most.

"What happened? I feel like I've been out for so long. When I finally woke, I tried to get up, I can barely walk, my eyes burned like hell, I feel like I can't do shit," I explain, releasing Alix from my grasp. I limp into the kitchen.

"Kevin, Seth broke in. He beat you, then dragged you out to the ally so we wouldn't be able to find you. I guess Heidi came over looking for you, and found you. You were rushed to a hospital with a mild concussion, sprained ankle, and minor internal bleeding." Alix lifts my arm and shows me the hospital band around my wrist.

How long has that been.

"Am I gonna be okay?" I ask hesitantly. Alix shifts so he was no longer facing me," just fine dude. I'd tell you if you weren't."

"Oh...so, where's Heidi? Or Evan?" I continue, grabbing a small clear glass for water.

"Well Heidi said she would stop by again to check on you. Evan's with Martha at this party. And Manny came over-"

"Manny came back?! What'd he say? Is he okay? Where's he staying?" My face lights up instantly.

"Manny said he wanted to see you. he got worried when we told him what happened. He was actually at the doctor's with us. Otherwise, Manny's completely fine. He's staying with his cousin," Alix explains with a faint smile on his face. I sip silently at the cold water, satisfied to wake up to this news. Maybe...we can still make it to UK Warped Tour. Heidi then slips back into my thoughts.

This girl, she corrupts my mind. She's taken over almost completely and I can't seem to stop thinking. She's mentally screwing me up. Her smile. Those eyes. That frame...I could go on forever.

"Kevin?" Alix mumbles, snapping his fingers in front of my face.

"Oh...yeah, sorry. It's just..there's something on my mind," I mutter, sitting on the floor of the kitchen. Alix's slight smile fades and he sits on the floor with me to play with the ends of my feet.

"What's up Kev? You can tell me anything!" Alix softly tickles my feet. I chuckle, somewhat.

"Okay! Just stop first." Alix grins and settles his hands once more.

"So lately I've been thinking..about Heidi.."

"Talk faster!!" Alix barks.

"Sorry- anyway, she's just been in my head. I can't stop thinking about her. She's amazing! Her eyes tell her entire life's story. Her figure with it's perfect curves. Her lips, plush and nicely shaded over in pink. I could sit here and tell you every little detail about her that I just can't get over. But Alix, I think Manny was right, I think what I've been keeping from myself is true. I don't want to admit it, because I'm not ready. I'm afraid this dream...is only a dream. Alix, I-I think I love Heidi."
