After sunbathing for multiple minutes to dry off, Colby spoke.
"Want to go now?"
I awake from my half-sleepy state. "Yup"
Colby stands and offers his hand to me.
"Thanks" I say as he helps me up from the ground.
Together, we pack out things and march through the sand back to the road.
"Let's head to my place," Colby suggests, "we'll drop our stuff there and take my car"
"Sounds good" I comment.
We begin to walk in silence back to their apartment.
"Wait" something springs to mind and I stop in my tracks.
"What is it?" Colby asks.
"I'm supposed to be finding a job this afternoon," I explain, "I'm so sorry, I forgot"
This sucks. I sigh and slump my shoulders.
"Crap" he sighs also.
After a moment of thought he speaks again, his face lighting up.
"Actually, I have an idea"
"What?" I question.
"Come exploring with me now" he says, a mischievous expression occupying his face.
"But that's not fixing the problem," I laugh. "It's not like I'm being paid to do that"
"Just wait and see"
I was a little skeptical and not quite convinced.
"Trust me" Colby adds.
I guess I can use a full day tomorrow to find a job.
We walk a little longer before we reach his apartment building. He's kind and holds the door open for me to enter first. I thank him.
Once we reach his apartment, we enter.
"You're welcome to leave your bag on the couch" Colby offers.
Without a word, I walk over to the black sofa and toss my bag down while Colby walked through into his room.
"I'm just getting changed" he says and I nod even though I'm aware he can't see me, crossing my arms. I glance down at my bikini which had left damp patches on my plaid shirt.
Colby caught my attention when he poked his head through the door.
"Want this?" He seems to have read my mind. He's holding up a black hoodie.
pls. yes pls.
I grin.
"I'll take that as a yes" He says before tossing the hoodie in my direction.
I catch it. "Thank you"
"No problem" Colby returns to his room.
I hold the piece of clothing up. It's massive but looks rather comfortable. My bikini was pretty much dry now so it wouldn't stain Colby's hoodie. I removed my shirt and pulled it on, over my head.
"That looks like a dress on you" Colby laughed. I hadn't noticed him come back into the lounge. A white shirt covered his upper half and the dark grey jeans we wore matched.
"Ella" he caught me off-guard.
"Hm?" I looked up hurriedly, praying that he didn't think I was checking him out. That would be weird.
"Ready to go?"
