The "Best" Friends: Book 1

Chapter 7 - Airports Are Boring When It's Dark

It was 10 o'clock at night on a Saturday. Everyone was sitting, bored, in the airport. Their flight had been delayed, so they had to wait another 5 hours for the plane to arrive. Some just sat there talking, while others fell asleep.

One hour ago..

"So.." started Pearl, "What should we do?"
"Uh.. well we could, you know, talk?" Replied TicToc.

It had been quiet and boring for too long. H decided he had to do something about it.
"Guys, I'm getting food. See ya later."
"Can you please bring us all back some?!" Pearl begged.
"Yeah, sure.." her brother replied.

H left the waiting room and walked into the food court. Jimmy and Emilia were sitting on a bench. It wasn't very comfortable, but it would have to do. Carly was sitting in the floor next to them. She couldn't help staring at her best friends and thinking they were the cutest couple ever.
"You guys would be the cutest couple ever!" She squealed, "I'm serious!" Emilia pinched her arm again. "Ow!"
"Whatever Carly," Jimmy replied, "Wait! That sounded so rude! I'm really, really sorry!"

Pearl was sitting on a swing (yes, there were swings at the airport) and Tea Party was sitting, upside down, on the bar above her. Her curly mint and purple hair hanging down and resting on Pearl's head, and her light blue dress was hanging down as well, but not much though because it wasn't floaty. TicToc sat beside the swing. She was wearing a different cloak from last time, and this time you could actually see her skirt. It was pastel turquoise with clocks all over. She also had on a dark grey waistcoat with a black t-shirt beneath it. Her boots were back and white. The bottom was black, while the part going up her leg was white with black buttons to fasten it. Her short white hair was in a ponytail, but since it was so short, it was half out. It was being covered by the black hood though, so it didn't matter too much.

About 15 minutes later, H came back.
"Heyyy! Did ya bring us food?" TicToc asked in her weird voice.
"Yeah, well, I did but I ate it," H replied.
"What?!" Pearl yelled, "But you promised you would!"
"Well, I didn't listen cuz I didn't really care. I just said yeah," H replied.
"Wow. You suck," said TicToc, "Heh, just kidding." Pearl face palmed.

H went over to his friends and shoved them of the bench. He lay down and went to sleep.
"Wow, thanks," said Emilia. Sarcastically.
"I still can't believe you have a crush on this guy," said Jimmy. Emilia elbowed him in the chest. "Okay, I know what Carly means. You're violent!"
"I'm not violent!" Emilia replied, "And I can't believe you have a crush on Carly. I mean, she's really annoying."

Carly was asleep on the floor now. Her snoring was adorable, because it was really fast and quiet. Emilia walked past to try and find somewhere to sleep. Then she noticed her sleeping friend.
"Huh. I never thought I'd say this, but Carly has a really adorable sleeping noise."

Emilia found a giant pile of teddy bears just outside a toy shop, and since the airport was pretty much empty, the shopkeeper slept her sleep there.

Gidget was sitting on the floor. Just beside TicToc. Their hair was almost the same colour, but Gidget's was actually just really light blonde. She was watching Bob because he was lying on the floor, licking Kidney. She was half being entertained by this, and her other half was being totally disgusted. Who licks a rock?! Or a kidney?!

Not much later, Jimmy lay down and began bouncing on the floor.
"Jimmy what the flippin' are you doing?" Pearl asked. No response.
"JIMMY!" Tea Party yelled. No response.
"Jimmy, if you don't answer me, I'll kill you. I've did it twice and I'm not scared to do it again," TicToc told him. No response.

Jimmy continued bouncing while the three girls yelled at him. Emilia decided to stop the shouting with the truth.
"He's not bouncing. Well, I guess he is," she started, "But he's asleep." The three just stared at her.
"Who sleeps like that?!" TicToc asked.
"Jimmy does. Duh," Emilia replied. Pearl face palmed.

Bob began farting so Carly told him to stop a whole bunch of times. He still continued so Carly dragged him by the feet and threw him all the way to the other side of the waiting area.
"Phew!" She said, right before her Dad reappeared next to her again. Gidget slapped him.
