It was the morning of the eighth of October. A normal day to most, but a very special day to someone. That was the day of Emilia's sixteenth birthday. Finally, she'd be the same age as her two best friends, still a year younger than her crush, but that wasn't so bad.

She got out of bed slowly, and stepped into her fluffy turquoise slippers. She was wearing a light pink tank top with matching shorts. Her strawberry blonde hair fell over her shoulders. She walked over to her mirror and grabbed her dressing gown that matched her slippers, and put it on. She grabbed a light pink ribbon and gathered all of her hair together in a messy bun, leaving only her side fringe out of it.

She walked downstairs and found her sister making pancakes and syrup.
"Hey, sis," Emilia said.
"Good morning, sis. Happy Sixteenth Birthday!" Replied her sister.
"Heh," Emilia laughed, "You know, my birthday's not all that special. It's just like, 'Hey! It's the anniversary of the day you were born! Yippee!' To be honest, I don't care."
"Okay, your opinion," her sister said.

Once the pancakes were ready, her sister added a birthday candle and sang the Birthday Song. Emilia cringed. She wasn't kidding when she said she didn't care. Since she was from a rich family, there was nothing she would ever ask for and she saw it as just another day. Christmas was a similar situation, but she loved the feeling of being with her friends or family. Part of her was always filled with Christmas spirit.

After breakfast, she ran upstairs and phoned Jimmy. He wished her a Happy Birthday and told her that she could go over to his house. She declined and said that she just wanted to go outside for a walk. Jimmy said that he wanted to go with her, so she accepted that.

Emilia approached her cupboard and took out the green dress she always wore. It had a similar forest design to H and Carly's clothes, and it had light pink sleeves. She took off her slippers and put on her transparent, turquoise shoes with a ribbon going up to her knees. She laced them up and took out her hair. She used the same bobble to tie it up in a high ponytail. She ran downstairs again as fast as possible and opened the front door. She walked half way to Jimmy's house, when she saw him.
"Hey, Emilia," he said.
"Hi, Jimmy," Emilia replied.

They walked really slowly while laughing at the same time. They wished it could go on forever. It lasted a good half an hour until Emilia felt her phone buzzing. She took it out of her pocket and turned it on. It was Carly.
She sighed, "Ugh! What now?"

Carly invited her to a restaurant for her birthday. She said that H, Pearl, Bob, Gidget, TicToc and Tea Party would all be there too. Emilia thought about it for a minute before asking Jimmy, "What do you think? Should I go?"
Jimmy replied, "I dunno.. it's your choice."

Emilia sighed and decided to go. She and Jimmy went back to her house and Emilia got changed. Yet again. This time, she wore a long, turquoise dress covered in light and dark pink roses. She had black tights on that had a slight gold shine to them. On her feet were transparent pink sandals with a gold straps around her ankles. She took out her hair but pleated one strand at the side and tied it with a small elastic band. She then placed a transparent headband, that matched her shoes, except there was a gold gem in the middle, on her head.

She sighed before saying, "Okay, let's go."
"Okay," Jimmy replied, without hesitation.

As the two approached their friends' house, Tea Party came to the door and hugged them. Jimmy frowned.
"Aw, what is it, Mr Grumpy Pants?" Tea Party teased.
"Uh, nothing," Jimmy replied, "I'm fine."
"Oh. Okay then!" The nine year old girl replied, before thanking the two by the hands and dragging them inside.

Carly smiled when she saw that Jimmy and Emilia had come in together. H laughed a little bit. TicToc raised her right eyebrow and smirked. Bob stuck his tongue out while smiling. Gidget kept a straight face, but in her head she was going crazy.

Carly was the first to say anything, "Hey, lovebirds!"
"Of course you brought Jimmy," H added.
"Aw! You two are in love?!" Pearl cried.
"Heh. Cute," TicToc finished.
Emilia blushed so hard that her whole face was red before she screamed, "WE'RE NOT TOGETHER! WE'RE JUST FRIENDS!"
"Sure," whispered H.
"What's was that?!" Emilia yelled.
"Nothing," he replied quickly. Emilia glared at him for a few seconds.

As the night went on, everyone seemed to have a good time. Everyone except Emilia. She sat at one of the windows and sighed. She stared at the stars and thought about life, trying to block out the music that her friends had asked staff to put on. To her surprise, H walked over and sat beside her, waiting for her to notice him.

It was about ten minutes before Emilia noticed that her crush was the only one anywhere near her.
"Wha-what are you doing here?!" She cried.
"I came to see if you were okay," H replied.
"Why are you really here?" Emilia asked, knowing he was lying.
"Okay, fine. It's because I don't like being surrounded by people talking," he admitted.
Emilia just laughed, "You're claustrophobic?"
"Nah. It's the noise. It so flippin annoying!" H told her.

After that short conversation, they stared out of the window for a while. It began to rain. Just as she thought that her day would never get better, one of the only things that calmed Emilia happened. Watching the rain drip down the window. She breathed softly on the glass, and drew a heart. She wrote the letters E and H inside and then rubbed it off again with her hand.
"I just can't do it yet.." Emilia smiled.
