The "Best" Friends: Book 1

Chapter 10 - Wall Climbing

A week later, after the rain had finally stopped, everyone went outside for a picnic and invited their friends to come along too. They had brought donuts and ice cream with them so that they could have a picnic together. Despite the fact it had been raining not long before, it was a really sunny day. So sunny in fact that not many people could see.
Bob giggled, "I a-have to shield my eyes!"
Gidget face palmed yet again, "Really?"
Bob replied with, "Heh. Yeah!"

Pearl was lying on her side on the grass. Her friends stared at her.
"Hey, uh, Pearl?" Tea Party started, "What are you doing?"
"I'm lying on the ground! What's it look like I'm doing?" She replied.

TicToc just shrugged her shoulders and lay on top of her. Sideways of course. Then was followed by Tea Party. Bella decided to take a picture of the three girls.
"Bella! What the flippin' are you doing?!" Pearl yelled.
"I was taking a picture of you three. It's really adorable and the sun is shining on you so it's the perfect summer picture!" Replied Bella.
"Okay," said Pearl.

They had brought some donuts with them to eat. There were only six though, so Carly, Pearl, TicToc and Tea Party all went to a shop and got some ice cream. Carly got a strawberry cone, Pearl got a strawberry and blueberry tub, TicToc got a huge bowl of vanilla and lemonade cream with strawberries on top, and Tea Party got a chocolate cone with a halved strawberry on the side.

H looked at them, very confused.
"Where the flippin' did you get those?" He asked.
"A-duh!" Carly replied, cheerily, "At the store!"
"Wait.. so you just opened the ice cream freezer and got those? That must be some magic store.." Emilia questioned sarcastically.
"Haha, no," Carly giggled.
"We flippin' got them at the desk, Dummy," Pearl continued.
"Yeah! And mines was only four dollars!" TicToc exclaimed.
"Uh, that's an expensive bowl of ice cream.." Jimmy replied.
"Yeah, but she hasn't had much ice cream before. So it's okay!" Tea Party chirped.
"That does NOT make it okay!" Emilia cried.
"Meh," said Gidget.

A little while later, Tea Party had finished her ice cream so she decided she'd go for a walk. She walked through some grass which gradually got longer until she could no longer see straight in front of her. At last, she came across a giant wall and just stared at it for a bit before saying, "Boing!" And she jumped as high as she possibly could.

After a while, she got bored of jumping, and decided to rejoin her friends at the picnic. Unfortunately, she fell flat on her face and she got all muddy.
"Tea Party! Are you alright?!" Pearl cried.
"Aaaaahhh!!" Tea Party screamed, "My face is all muddy and wet and dirty and ugh! What am I gonna do?!"
"Geez! You didn't even get hurt. At least you're not injured," TicToc told her.
"Anyways! There's a giant wall!" Tea Party chirped, as if she had just reset what had happened before, "Anybody wanna come climb it with me?"

Happily, she skipped over to the wall and surprisingly Bella followed.

As they approached the wall, Bella looked up, her jaw dropping in shock. She had never seen such a tall wall in her life. She wondered if it was safe to climb, because she knew that that was what Tea Party was about to do. She watched the nine year old girl climb the wall and she yelled over to her that they were going to have a race. She thought it was unfair that they started at different times and so she ran to the wall as fast as possible and took a big leap. She began to climb.

Finally, Bella reached the top. Well, it didn't take her that long, but it was tiring, so it felt like ages. Much to her surprise, she hadn't won the race.
"Aw, come on!"
"Hey, Slow Coach!" Tea Party boasted.
"Really?" Asked Bella in return. Tea Party nodded before standing up and jumping off the wall.
"Really?! I just got here!"

Back down at the picnic area, everyone had finished either their donuts or their ice cream. They were so bored and had no idea what to do. Emilia and Carly went for a walk and tried to look for Bella, who hadn't returned yet.

They had been looking around for about half an hour and Carly was starting to worry.
"Where do you think she'd be?" She asked in her generally happy voice.
"I dunno. I barely talk to her!" Emilia replied.
"Well, let just keep looking then."

Eventually, the girls did find Bella. Sitting on a giant rock. They told her that they'd been looking for her for hours. She decided to go back with them. They all shared a bottle of water and left.
