Family disappointment

The car ride their was filled with silence. Nobody attempted to make conversation, I mean why would they. Their biggest disappointment are sitting next to them. The fact we had to stay with our parents throughout the evening sounded like hell. Why couldn't we just go off and hide somewhere until it was all over, waiting to find out what's going to happen is less anxiety inducing than this. Me and Simon won't even be waiting together to find out. We're going to be with our parents. Alone.

We get out the car and my hands are shaking. Every parents evening in the past has been good, we was top students. We still are but we piss around so much teachers are going to have something to say. It's not as if they know what would happen if our parents find out we're together.

"Simon! Josh!" We hear a shout, Vikk comes towards us smiling, "I'll see you guys at my party tonight."

"Yeah of course." Simon smiled, "We can't wait."

"I didn't say you can go a party Simon." His dad says, Vikk looks at us in panic.

"You have nothing to do with my life so you really have no say." Simon snapped, "Upside of being the family disappointment is you have no say."

Vikk looked as if he was about to burst out laughing while all the adults looked at him in shock.

"What it's true." Simon shrugged, "Don't bother me that my parents hate me because I liked guys. You know I've slept with guys, a lot. I have so many names I could expose of nice straight boys who have been in bed with me."

With this me and Vikk couldn't stop ourselves bursting out laughing. The look on their faces was absolutely priceless.

"Simon you don't want to be shouting that out." His mum was acting as if she was concerned, all she cared about was how she looks.

"I mean everyone already knows." I smile, "The whole school knows Simon's into dudes."

"Yeah watch this." Simon stood up on a bench, "Hey everyone hands up if you already knew I like fucking guys and girls."

All the students and a handful of the parents raised their hand. Our parents looked even more shocked than they was. Their tiny minds can't comprehend Simon isn't ashamed of who he is.

"Anyway we should probably go in." Vikk said, "See you later."

"We should go in as well." I want to get this over and done with as quickly as possible.

The evening went pretty well for me. The teachers said about how we make jokes in class but they don't say the contents of the joke. Theirs only one teacher left for me now, Mr Dawson. It was only the other day he gave me, Simon, Vikk and Tobi a detention for joking about our secret relationship. Simon has already had him but theirs no way for me to see how it went. I really hope everything goes okay.

"Josh is a good student." He says as I sit between my parents shaking, "But he has a habit of joking around with his friends while I'm talking."

"What friends?" My dad asked, they already know who it is, every other teacher has said the same thing.

"Simon, Vikk and Tobi." He responded, "He is very close with Simon isn't he."

"Oh yes." My mum fake smiled, "He's been friends with Simon for as long as he can remember."

"Many of their jokes are about secret relationships with each other." Fuck, "Are the boys in a relationship?"

"I'm right here." I snap, "And no it's a joke. You really think if we was in a secret relationship we would announce it like that?"

"I thought not."

I shove my phone back into my pocket and wait for Simon to show up with his parents. Only time will tell what they think. Please just let this go right. Please.

I smile at Simon coming towards me who looks just as grumpy as his parents. I mean who wouldn't be spending time with them. Mine are almost as bad. At least we have this party to look forward to.

"So what's with the jokes about you two being together." Mr Minter asked.

"It's a joke because nobody ever seen us without each other so they all thought we was dating." Please let this be okay.

"Yeah like everyone was already joking about it." Simon leant up against the tree and started clicking his lighter, "So we might as well joke about it as well."

"So theirs nothing going on." My mum asked.

"Hell no." Me and Simon lied in union.

"Okay."

"Can we go this party now?" Simon asked, "I mean we're going but can you drop us off so we aren't walking a hour to Vikk's."

"I don't see a problem with that." My dad fake smiled, I'm surprised he agreed.
