Eyewitness: Philip and Lukas:

The barbeque part 2.

Before I start this story I want to make it clear that Lukas coming out to his dad happened about 5-6 months ago. I just didn't put 'months later on my stories if that clears up any confusion.'

Philip just stands there awkwardly waiting for Lukas to come back while Helen and Gabe greet Bo.

When Lukas finally comes back they all make there way to the backyard where the barbeque grill is and Philip thinks 'so this is what a barbeque grill really looks like.' As Lukas sits the plates and cups on the bench.

In this moment Philip is really excited about this because he's never had barbeque but has heard so many great things about it.

Bo puts the fire out on the grill and sits the bowl with the food in it on the bench as everyone is getting settled on the bench. Philip and Lukas are sitting next to eachother. Bo sitting across from Lukas, Helen across from Philip and Gabe next to Helen.

Surprisingly Philip is the first person to reach into the bowl and he pulls out a hot link.

"What's this?" Philip asks

Confused everyone just looks at Philip in shock.

"It's a hot link Philip. You've never had one."

"No." Philip said putting the meat on his plate looking down at it wishing he never said anything to begin with. He thought the conversation was over until Bo asks 'how come?'

Lukas gives Bo the 'oh my god shut up' look.

Honestly Philip never had time and he just doesn't have any family. It's always been just him and his mom from what he knows.

"Because I never had the time to get hot links and before today I never heard of them. I also couldn't buy them because at the time I had bills to pay."

"That's a lot to take on as a teenager. You're very responsible for your age." Bo says.

'thanks' Philip mumbles forcing a smile reaching for the bread and barbque sauce.

Everyone else already digging in as Philip takes a bite of his hot link and is surprised by how good it is . "wow." Philip said quietly.

"Good huh." Gabe said

"Yea, very. Can I have another one?" Philip asks Bo before finishing up the one he had.

"Yea of course."

"Philip." Helen says

"Yea."

"You've never had barbeque before have you?"

Philip feels so stupid because he didn't want them to know how poor he was. They obviously knew he was poor. But not this poor.

"Oh sorry." Philip says looking down at his plate.

"No it's okay... Why are you sorry?"

"Because I've never had this kind of food before and I'm rushing through it. So I'm sorry."

"Baby, no you don't have to apologize. Have as much as you want." Lukas says pecking Philip's lips just so he can see him smile which he does.

At this exact moment Philip realizes that he has nothing to apologize for and that these people surrounding him are not making fun of him for never having barbeque but was just smiply shocked that he never had barbeque. Two completely different things.

"Thanks guys for not making me feel weird about it." Philip says.

"Of course." Gabe says.

"Let's change the subject. Philip, Lukas how long have you guys been together.
