Todays our anniversary and we're just sitting at the table for breakfast waiting for Lukas to get here and I really can't wait to see what Helen and Gabe got him.
Damn, 2 years is a long ass time to be dating someone. But it's worth it. This is the person I want to spend my everyday and forever with. But, of course I'm not gonna tell him that.
"What'd you guys get him?" I say directing my question towards Gabe since Helen isn't budging.
"Patience, Philip. He should be here any minute." As soon as Gabe says that I hear knocking at the door.
I squeal happily. Getting up and opening the front door to a Lukas and Bo Waldenbeck. This is news to me because I didn't know Bo would be attending, not that I mind. Just saying.
I hug him and I feel him backing us up a little. Just pushing us into the house. I hear the door close and lock behind us. Meanwhile, we're still hugging but we deserve this moment. I feel him spinning us a bit.
I pull back and look at him just soaking in all of him. All of him that I get to have forever. Knowing that he's the only person who will ever have all of me.
"Hi. How's your morning?" I say smiling.
He smiles back brushing our noses together.
"It's been fine. My dad actually wanted to come last minute. If I'd known earlier, I would've texted you."
"No, it's fine. I think he should be here for this. Helen and Gabe have a surprise for you, but they're not spilling at all."
"A surprise? Let's hope it's not condoms again." He says looking down. I knew he wouldn't be happy about this. But, maybe it's more condoms for us, not such a bad thing. But, we were honestly thinking about ditching those condoms.
"I thought we were ditching them?" I say whispering in his ear. I know this isn't the time or place for this.
"Ugh, not now babe, later, later." He says kissing me, pushing me against the wall, hands traveling lower, and lower.
"Lukas, not now." Bo says chuckling a little, sitting at the table. I see Gabe hand him a plate full of pancakes, eggs, and bacon. He really is amazing for these great breakfasts.
Lukas and I go over to the table sitting down. It's silence for a bit. You know the awkward teenager, parent situations.
Gabe pasts us our plates and Helen finally clears her throat and starts to talk.
"So, Lukas, Gabe and I love you like our own, and we got you something for you and Philip's anniversary."
Finally, the moment we've all been-... Well actually just me, because he didn't know he was getting a present.
Helen gives Lukas a small box. very decorated and wrapped superbly so that means Gabe must've wrapped it.
Lukas takes it smiling, briefly looking back at me and I shrug my shoulders because I have absolutely no idea what it could be. he takes his time unraveling the present bit by bit until the moment is here to take the final bit of tape off and open the present.
He opens the box and sees what it is. before he takes the present out of the box he just laughs for a bit, and the laugh turns into a smile and the smile turns into a small "Thank you guys."
"our pleasure, son." gabe says patting Lukas on the back.
"Well, what is it?" Bo and I say almost simultaneously.
Lukas looks over at us and takes a golden key out of the box, and I'm guessing it's a key to our house and I'm completely in shock. I mean, it's very creative on the part of Helen and Gabe, but I didn't think they'd ever give him a key to our house. This means that they trust him completely, and they know he's not going anywhere now that it's been 2 years now.
"A key." I say almost breathless.
"A key babe. Now I can come over and surprise you in the middle of the night." Lukas says very excitedly and in front of the adults.
They all share one big laugh. but little do they know, he's 100% serious.
