Lukas is currently sitting in the waiting room, tapping his foot so fast in hard it could put a whole in the ground. He tries to think what the hell could've happened to Philip these last couple of days. Since Philip is sick should'nt be sick too. They spend every moment of everyday together.
It's been 30 minutes. Not too long but to Lukas it feels like 2 years. He gets up and starts pacing until he sees a doctor.
"The family of Philip Shea." The doctor says.
Lukas nearly topples the man over running so fast towards him.
"Calm down son," Gabe says.
Lukas thinks how can he be so calm at a time like this, but he takes Gabes advice as he nods his head.
"So, what's wrong with Philip." Helen asks worriedly
"It seems that Philip has a very severe stomach bug, also known as a stomach virus-"
"Only a stomach bug!" Lukas shouts.
"Then why can't he stand, what happened to him."
"I was about to get to that."
"Well, go on then." Lukas said getting angry with the doctor.
"Lukas, calm down it's not his fault this happened." Gabe says putting his hand on Lukas' shoulder.
"Right. Who are you, family only, I wouldn't want to give the details out unless your Philips family, it's policy." The doctor says.
"I'm his boyfriend, I am his family." Lukas says
"As I was saying Philip had a rare kind of stomach bug that is still being researched as we speak called cyclospora infection. The stomach bug infects the bowel and causes symptems of diarrhea, stomach pain, and other flu-like symptoms lasting anywhere from a few weeks to a few months." The doctor says.
Lukas has tears forming in his eyes.
"But he's been throwing up and he can barely stand with out puking. What happened to him?" Lukas says voice cracking at the last part of the sentence.
"Philip is about 5-8lbs underweight and we're almost positive that's the reasoning for all the puking."
"We knew he was underweight when we took him in, and he's been gaining a lot of weight. When we took Philip I he was about 15lbs underweight." Helen says.
"That's progress. People can become infected with cyclosora by consuming food or water contaminated with parasites."
"Now if Philip follows all of our directions and takes his antibiotics, since he's overall healthy he should start feeling better within a couple of weeks. We need to keep pushing for those 5lbs as well."
"Is it contagious." Helen asks
"No, it is not contagious. If you guys would like to go see Philip now you're more than welcome t-"
Lukas nearly knocks the doctor down walking into Philips room. He sees that they've changed Philip into a hospital gown.
"Hey, baby." Lukas says walking over to Philip grabbing his hand.
"Hey, you like my gown?" Philip asks smiling.
"Of course I love it."
"Hey, kiddo how you feeling?" Gabe asks
"Overall, I feel like shit. But they have me antibiotics so I'm slowly starting to feel better."
"That's good." Helen says.
"Are you hungry, we can go get some pizza, a couple of milkshakes." Gabe asks.
"That sounds great thanks guys."
Helen and Gabe share a smile because the only reason why they're buying pizza and milkshakes is because they have to push for those 5lbs Philip needs to gain.
"You guys will be okay until we get back." Helen asks
"Well be fine, thanks guys." Lukas says as Helen and Gabe walk out of the room.
When they're gone, Lukas leans in for a kiss but Philip tilts his head back dodging the kiss.
"W-w.what's wrong?" Lukas asks nervously getting scared that he might've done something wrong to upset Philip.
"I might be contagious, I don't want to give it to you." Philip says sadly looking down.
"It doesn't matter even if you were contagious, I'd still kiss you, it doesn't matter to me baby, if you're sick I'm sick." Lukas says tipping Philips chin up
"Don't cry, babe. Please. You're gonna be fine." Lukas finishes
"Are you sure." Philip says crying even harder tears rushing down his face.
"I'm scared, what if I never get to do normal teenager things, what if.. what if you don't want me anymore now that I'll be sick for a while."
"Baby, I'll want you forever, doesn't matter. Remember this relationship is a forever thing, not just temporary."
Lukas claimed into the hospital bed, and spooned him, whispering things like 'you're okay', 'you're gonna be fine babe, I'm gonna be with you every step of the way.'

Helen and Gabe come back with the pizza and milkshakes as promised.
"Okay, Philip we have a little surprise for you." Helen says sharing a look at Gabe smiling.
"A surprise, what is it." Philip says smiling wide all his teeth showing.
Suddenly the doors open from behind him and Philip sees his mom and gets emotional immediately.
"Surprise." Anne says holding a balloon in her hand.
"M-mo.m." philip says trying to get up out of his bed. Voice cracking a bit.
"No, babe, you can't get up." Lukas whispers pulling Philip back down.
"Mom." Philip says extending his arms for a hug.
Anne runs over and give Philip a long emotional hug.
Philip thinks even though he will be here for weeks and weeks things will kind of be okay, and things will go back to normal.
