Chapter 13- Old flame

Bella's POV

Edward is most definately the love of my life, but he had gone and left me which made me rethink that concept a great deal, I guess I did have feelings for Jake, we were childhood friends and this closeness we established along with all the pent up feelings and Edward living made it impossible to hide from each other what we felt but what will all this mean to us now that Edward's back.

"how are Alice them?" I asked

"They are doing great, they may be back here in a day or two" Edward replied

"that's good, that Alice is okay I mean" I stammered, moving hair out of my face and glancing up at him.

He had a pained expression on his face that I had grown accustomed to.

I licked my lips and his eyes moved to my lips.

god what I would give just to feel his lips brush against mine just this one time,just-

"Did you hear what I said Bella?" he cut through my train of thought.

"no sorry" my cheeks flushed red realizing I had missed a whole conversation.

"its not important, anyway I gotta go, see you later" he said moving in to place a kiss on my forehead.

"hey loca, what you doing wondering around alone in this neighborhood, if you hadn't noticed there's a crazy killer leech out there out for your blood" he said pulling me into him with his usual big bear hugs.

"Damn Jake you're getting bigger and bigger by the day, steroids aren't good for you" I murmured into his massive chest.

He had a big grin plastered on his face when he finally released me from his embrace, keeping his arm around me.

"Funny Bella", he chuckled, "c'mon let's get inside, you're freezing cold" he said squeezing my relatively tiny frame into his massive frame.

we made our way into his house, running into his father along the way, then into his room, which seemed to be our very own sanctuary.

I took a seat on his bed, while he moved to his closet to change into a cleaner shirt.

I stared at his very toned and muscular back, gaping is more like it.

When he turned around he caught me, I blushed again second time today.

I tried hiding behind my hair, he was instantly by my side on his knees, his large hands on my knees, his chest so close to me, i could feel the heat radiating off of him and his musky strong scent.

"Don't feel embarrassed Bella,its okay" he said rubbing arm reassuringly.

"Jake do you think we could maybe try something" I asked in a hurry startling him.

"sure, what is it beautiful?" he asked, pecking me lightly on the lips.

I pressed my lips harder against his, seeking out his luscious tongue, he was clearly caught off guard cause we ended up a tangle of arm and leg on his floor, with me ontop.

"wow,Bella, what's gotten into you" he exclaimed breathlessly ,once we broke the lip lock to catch our breaths.

I smiled to myself, what was I so worried about earlier, Jacob and I are gonna be just fine.
