Chapter 2️⃣3️⃣

" And I told her that I was going to take the next flight to Arizona." I say, telling the whole story to Jacob.

"Oh Aubrey I'm so so sorry." He says sincerely pulling me to his chest.

" I didn't mean to cause a scene back there in front of your parents." I tell him.

"You didn't make a scene, they'll understand." He says, rubbing my back.

I nod my head.

"But Jacob what am I going to do?" I ask, trying not to cry even more.

"We take the next flight to Arizona." He said,

" In fact its actually closer there then home."

"Are you sure you want to go with me." I ask.

"Of course I'm going, I want to be there for you." He replies, kissing my hand.

I smile.

"So when do we leave?" I say.

"How about tomorrow morning?" He suggests.

"Sounds like a plan." I say, wiping my face.

"Now come on, let's try to enjoy the rest of this time." He says grabbing my hand and leading me back to the reunion.

"Jacob now what was it you wanted announce?" I ask him as we get back in the crowd of people.

"Oh it's nothing, it can wait." He said, quietly.

"Oh nonsense what is it? Everyone Jacob has an announcement he wants to say." I shout.

Jacob stands there awkward as all eyes are focused on us.

"Now what is it?" I say confusedly but anxious.

Jacob takes a deep breath & I frown.

Was he breaking up with me?

"Aubrey, ever since I first laid eyes on you I was instantly love struck. By the way you would talk, or how beautifully your hair fell on your shoulder, or how gorgeous you would look when you're not even trying." He began as he grabbed both of my hands.

I was still totally confused, what is his point?

"I always knew you were the one for me, by how great we get along. And I truly think that finding out that our exes cheated with each other was For The Best Of Us because man if we didn't, I don't think I would've ever found a girl like you."

"Which is what I'm trying to say is that, I want to spend the rest of my life with you." He added, then I knew.

I covered my face with my hands as he got down on one knee and pulled out a tiny black box from his pocket.

"Aubrey Paiswell... will you make me the happiest guy ever by marrying me?" He asks with a bright smile & raising one of his eyebrows.

I quickly nodded.

"Yes yes yes I would love to marry you Jacob !" I say as he puts a beautiful diamond ring on my finger and I jump into his arms.

I couldn't believe this.

I thought these type of things only happened in movies.

'Awww' was heard all around and everyone clapped & cheered.

We kissed one good time, then he put me down.

"Jacob I love you so much." I say truthfully with tears of joy.

"I love you more." He smiled back, gazing down at me.

We could've ended the night better at the family reunion, afterwards we went home.
