"Hey," Maya said to Lucas as she closed the window behind her. She sat down next to Lucas.

"Hey," Lucas replied with a glistening smile. "Beautiful day."

"Yeah," Maya replied as she stared at the night sky.

The lights of all the buildings contrasted beautifully against the dark midnight blue sky, as if it were a painting that was drawn to perfection. The full moon was as big as ever, showering Lucas and Maya in just the right amount of moonlight. It made the whole night appear as if it were sparkling. Sparkling like Lucas and Maya's love.

"Are Farkle and Riley..?"

"Yeah." Maya looked back at Riley, who had her head on Farkle's shoulder. "They're really happy together."

"That is really, really great. But what about Smackle?"

Maya smiled to herself. "I think that even if it does hurt her a little, Zay will be there to cheer her up."

Lucas chuckled. "So everyone's happy?"

"Yeah. Yeah, everyone's together now." Maya looked Lucas in the eye. "Um... what- what about us? Are we together?"

Lucas stared at Maya for a while. Then he grabbed her face with one hand and kissed her.

It was the most passionate kiss they had ever had. Maya wrapped her arms around Lucas' neck and Lucas' hands made their way down to Maya's waist.  Both of their eyes were closed, yet they could see everything so clearly. Lucas slid his tongue into Maya's mouth and licked her front teeth, as if begging for entrance. Maya opened her mouth more and their tongues played with each other.

Maya put her legs over Lucas' and Lucas' hand gently caressed her thigh. A flame ignited inside of Maya that she only had when she was with Lucas. She felt as if everything that was bad in the world disappeared. No more pain, no more betrayal, no more disappointment; just love. That was all she had to offer and all she needed to live. And this kind of love. The love she had with Lucas; it was more than she ever even imagined herself to have.

They separated for a moment to take a breath and just as Maya was moving in to continue making out with Lucas, Lucas moved back.

"No, why'd you stop?" Maya whispered as she grabbed the front of his jacket and tried to initiate the kiss again, but Lucas just continued to move away from her.

He stood up. "Um I just remembered my mom told me not to be home too late." He stood up. "So I'm gonna get going now."

"What?" Maya asked, perplexed.

"Yeah, I- I have to go."

"Lucas? I know you. You can tell me anything. What's going on?" Maya asked, her voice shaking.

"Maya, I love you." He sat back down next to Maya. "I love you with all my heart. You- you mean everything to me. But i really do have to go." Tears were forming in his eyes.

"Something's wrong," Maya thought to herself. "No. No. I trust Lucas. I love him. I should just stop questioning him before he thinks I don't believe him. I need to stop being so damn paranoid. Something good is finally happening for me. I can't screw it up. I won't stand in the way of my own happiness."
