"Riley! Riley!!" Maya screamed out for her best friend, but she was nowhere to be found. Maya had only run for a few minutes, yet it felt like she had been running forever. Time seemed to stretch; Maya was dreadfully aware of the pain her best friend must be feeling.

"Riley!" Maya continued screaming. She turned a corner into the main hallway. There was Riley, crying on the bench. And Farkle was next to her, holding her in his arms.

Maya backed away into the corner so they couldn't see her, but she could see them.

"I didn't - - I never expected them to betray me like that. I thought me and Lucas were meant to be," Riley said.

"It's Lucas and I, not me and Lucas," Farkle joked.

Riley gave him a look.

"Yeah, okay, sorry," Farkle said. "Remember Mr. Matthew's lesson on fate and destiny? Things always work themselves out. I don't think Lucas and Maya betrayed you, I think they just followed their hearts, and it led them towards each other." Farkle let go of Riley and looked into her eyes. "Maybe the person that's right for you has been here all along, you just didn't know it."

Riley stared at Farkle for a moment. "You've always stuck by me," she said with more tears forming in her eyes. "You would never try to hurt me. And if you did, you would never forgive yourself. I know that much. I know that I love you. But.. I don't know. I think what I'm barely starting to realize is that it's more than that. I don't just love you, Farkle. I'm in love with you. And I think that maybe you're in love with me, too." A tear slipped down her cheek. She had no idea why she was crying, she just was.

"Yeah. I've been in love with you for as long as I can remember," Farkle said.

"Yet, you helped me with Lucas even though it hurt you. You waited for me all this time."

"I'd wait ten more years if I had to. It would be worth it if it meant I could finally be with you."

They looked at each other for some time. Slowly, they leaned in and twisted their heads slightly. Their lips touched, and they stayed like that for a while. Farkle gently placed his hand on Riley's cheek. They kissed for even longer, a wonderful sensation filling both of them up. When they finally pulled away, they looked at each other and smiled.

Then Riley gasped.

"I'm sorry," Riley said. "I'm sorry, we shouldn't have done that, I never should've let that happen."

"Riley, what's the problem?" Farkle asked, puzzled.

"Smackle!" She got up from the bench. "Smackle's the problem! You're still with her, Farkle. She still loves you, and you're technically cheating on her."

"Well, technically, she's doing the same thing," Maya said coming out of the shadows.

Riley's jaw dropped when she saw Maya and she took a step back. She was speechless.

"Riley, I'm sorry. I- I shouldn't have kissed Lucas, I should have told you that I still like him, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you. Your friendship is the most important thing to me, and I won't let a boy get I'm between us. I- I won't talk to him ever again if that's what you want. I screwed up. Let me make it up to you," Maya pleaded.
