I was too much in a mood to call for a taxi or an uber cause I was in a grudge, Karen and John are gonna kill me! Well on the plus side I can make a story time on my new YouTube channel, I trudged home and stormed into the house and ran up the stairs to my bedroom and made sure to slam the door extra hard behind me. I grabbed my pillow and stuffed it into my face and screamed as loud as I could, my door bursted open, an angry Karen was standing in the door frame, this creature wasn't very rare and often seen by the Vanessa Anderson on a daily bases I joked in my head. "Where is it!" She shouted,

"The river?" I answered thinking she was talking about my car but obviously she was talking about something completely different,

"No! Rebecca's blanket!" She roared, her anger shocked me, I wanted to burst out laughing, my prank is working but instead I slapped an innocent look on my face.

"I have no clue what you're talking about" I replied, "Oh yeah there's something I wanna tell you, quick story time, my um... my car reversed into the river and it's a wreck" I laughed guiltily, her mouth gaped open, she was giving me one of her stares.

"WHAT!?" She bellowed louder than I've ever heard,

"Wow careful Karen Jacob might be sleeping" I giggled. I had pushed way way too far, her facial expression were changing rapidly,

"Tell me you are just joking with me!" She shouted, I shook my head. "You are not to leave this bedroom until your father and I talk about this!" I cringed at the 'father' part, "Give me your phone!" She ordered.

"Ok Wow! Karen it wasn't even my fault!" I tried to defend myself,

"NOW!" I immediately grabbed my backup phone from my shelf and slyly handed to her, she grabbed it and made sure to slam the door on her way out,

"Hey that's my job!" I laughed. Karen was really something! I shook my head and texted Jake to meet me at the park in 10.

I carefully opened my bedroom window and crawled onto the roof and quietly shut it behind me, I slid down the tiles until I reached the gutter, I grabbed the pipe and glided down. I was so used to doing this by now that I barely made a noise, I popped my head up to peak through the window, Karen and John were sitting on the couch most likely arguing about me, I could hear them, I tried my best not to listen in but it was too hard.

"I can't deal with her anymore!" She shouted, "Your mother ruined our relationship with her" She cried,

"She's a teenager! She'll grow out of her moods and soon be thankful for what we did!" He replied calmly, wait what did they do? Other than adopt me because it sounded like they had done a favour or something?

"I cannot wait till she turns 18!" Karen shouted, storming out of the room, my mouth slowly opened as tears stung my eyes, Does she really hate me? I wiped away the tears and started jogging to the park. I sat down on a bench while I waited for Jake.

"BOO!" He shouted, scaring me. Lately he just put me in a good mood and it felt really nice because I never had anyone that would make me feel like this except for Chloe but I've forgotten about her. "Hey" He smiled as he gently took my hand,

"You scared me" I laughed.

"So why did you want me here?" He asked confused,

"I need your help" I said sternly.

"Of course! What with?" He answered,

"My 18th birthday is coming up in about a week and that means I'm free and capable of visiting my birth mother! I was hoping that you'd help me travel across the country to search her down!?" I stated, I knew it would be a long shot by even asking. There was a long silence while he thought about it,

"Sure" He replied, I was shocked by his answer.

"WAIT REALLY!" I laughed! I grabbed his cheeks with my palms, pulled him in and kissed him, it was AMAZING! Our lips moved in sync until we had to pull apart for air, his cheeks had turned rosey.

"I promised I would do anything that would make you happy and I don't break promises!" He stated,

"Great! We leave Friday Morning! I'll be at your house at the crack of dawn, don't worry about food and water I'll pack it and Karen and John Gave me pity money when I found out so we'll be grand!" I laughed as I quickly pecked his cheek and gave him a hug. John explained to me that they never knew my actual date of birth so the brought me to some sort of specialist and apparently I was born late July early August 2000 so they decided my birthday would be July 31st.

I was mid saying goodbye when he interrupted me, "Vanessa! I can't hide it from you any longer" He started, I was a little bit confused solely because he called me by my full first name which not many people did. "I've had feelings for you for years and know is the moment I've been dreaming of, will you be my girlfriend?" He chuckled nervously. I stayed silent to make him even more nervous just for the fun of it I even hummed a little to pretend I was deciding. "No pressure" He added,

"Are you stupid!? Of course I will!" I laughed, now it was his turn to pull me in for a long kiss, it almost went a little too far but we calmed ourselves seeming as we were in the park and there were people out for an 'evening stroll' as Karen refers to it. "Now, I gotta go cause I snuck out again and if I get caught I'll be killed" I giggled, I hadn't even noticed that we were holding hands until we had to pull apart, "Bye" I whispered,

"Bye" He replied as we walked our separate ways.

I sprinted home knowing that if they found out I had left I would be dead but half way home I remembered how Karen was saying she couldn't wait till I was 18 obviously cause she was sick of me. I scurried up the drain pipe and hoped in the window where surprisingly my room layed untouched, I closed the window and as I did John walked into my room. "Knock please!" I ordered,

"What were you doing?" He asked suspiciously, staring at the window,

"Airing out the room?" I covered up but barely, He nodded his head and began to leave, "Wait! John" I called as he came back into my room,

"Yes?"

"I heard you downstairs earlier just to let you know" I whispered angrily,

"Oh em, well you see..."

"Tell Karen when I turn 18 she doesn't need to worry cause I won't be told twice to get out of here!" I shouted so everyone in the house could here, He didn't even answer all he did was leave awkwardly.
