Chapter 2
"What's your name?" The alpha asks. I growled at a wolf that stepped closer to me. The alpha had an amused expression on his face watching me.
"Emily" Emily answered him. He smiled at her and looked at me with an eye brow raised. I straightened my back.
"Laila" He just nodded to me.
"Your trespassing"
"We didn't know, and we are sorry. If you let us leave we promise we won't come back. Right Emily?" I dared not look over at her in fear of taking my eyes off all the wolves.
"Uhh.." Emily replied.
"Well Laila, I might as well say your friend Emily won't be going anywhere. She's going to stay here" The alpha said smiling at her. A loud and fierce growl echoed threw the trees. I was shocked knowing it was me.
"Emily" I whispered. She looked at me with sad eyes. I looked at the alpha, and lunged.
Before I even got close to him a wolf attacked me in mid air. We flew on the ground. I kicked him off me and stood up. He lunged for me again. I ducked as his paw swiped the side of my face. blood trickled down my face. I turned around to look at him. His head was low and I lunged. He has the upper hand because he's a male and he's in his wolf form. He pinned me on the ground with his jaws around my neck.
"No! no! Please!" Emily begged falling to the floor. I looked over at the alpha as the wolf started biting down on my neck. His eyes showed hurt as he looked at Emily.
"Aiden stop" The wolfs jaws let go and I was pulled up and embraced in a hug by Emily. I glared at the Alpha and the wolf named Aiden. "Come with me back to the pack house and I can figure out what to do with you" He said turning on his heels. I could tell he was talking about me more than Emily.
'You need to go' Emily said threw our mind link. I looked at her.
'I'm not leaving without you'
'You have to. I'm staying'
'But Emily-'
'No but's I'm going to stay here, he's my mate. You know he's not going to hurt me. But I need you to be safe. Go!' She said. A single tear rolled down my cheek. The guys were coming to escort us. I took off. I grabbed my bag on the way. The last thing I heard Emily say was
"I love you Laila!" Tears streamed down my face. I could hear their footsteps fade in the distance. I ran so fast. I couldn't smell their territory anymore. I slowly walked along the river. I noticed a little cave off one of the mountains. I slowly walked to the cave and sat at the mouth of it. I could hear thunder in the distance. The rain started small but then grew into pouring. Lighting and thunder echoed threw the cave. I pulled my knees up to my chest and cried.
About two hours later, I stopped crying. I grabbed my backpack and walked farther back in the cave. I set my backpack down and used it as a pillow. I was not going to be a rogue with Emily anymore, only me. I fell alseep to that thought lingering in my head.
--Emily's POV--
After Laila ran, I watched as three men tried to follow her. They came back about 5 minutes later. She's gone, off the territory, that said. I sighed in relief. They grabbed my arms and pulled me towards the pack house.
"Owch, let go!" I yelled. Their grips were like iron.
"Don't touch her!" The alpha came into view when we reached the yard. I sighed in relief again. Their hands let go and I rubbed my wrists.
"Are you ok?" The alpha asked me. He took a step towards me and I took a step back. He sighed. I looked up into his eyes and started crying. Laila was gone, she's not coming back. He was at my sit in an instant. I fell to my knees and cried into my hands. Not caring that I was being watched.
"Give us a minute" The alpha said to his pack. He bent down next to my and lifted my chin up to look at him.
"Come inside and get some sleep. You can explain tomorrow" I nodded and slowly stood up. He put his arm around my waist and walked me into the house.
"Would you like a guest bedroom?" He asked. I nodded. He lead me to a closed door. He looked at me for a minute and opened it. I took a step in and the pain in my ankle I didn't realize I had came to me.
"Ow" I whispered and bent over my ankle. Holding it in my hands. It felt like a bone popped out.
"Emily, Are you ok?" The alpha asked. I laughed it off and limped to my bed. "So um if you need me I'm right across the hall" I nodded and he closed the door behind him. I got up and stripped off my clothes. I rummaged threw the doors until I found an over sized t-shirt. I slipped it on and limped back into bed. I laid there, trying to remember the last time I slept in a bed.
I woke up screaming from a nightmare. I was drenched in sweat. My heart was beating fast. It was to real. The alpha came bursting into my room.
"Are you ok?" I looked up at him and nodded. He crossed the room and sat on the edge of the bed. "bad dream?" he asked. I nodded. He stood up to leave after a minute of silence. I quickly grabbed his hand
"Please don't go" My voice only came out a whisper. The shocks ran up my arm as I touched him. He looked shocked at first then smiled. He climbed into the bed right next to me. I turned myself around and laid my head on his chest.
"How long has it been since you slept in a bed?" he asked quietly
"Almost 10 years" I sighed. He wrapped his arms around me, protectively and kissed my head.
"Goodnight Emily"
