A rogue's cry

Ok so this is my first rogue book. I hope you enjoy it(: Picture of Laila to the side!

Prolouge

"Ready or not, here I come!" I shouted as I uncovered my eyes with my hands. The sun was set high in the sky. I scanned the area for my friend, Emily. I ran and looked behind trees, the house and around the cars. I giggled as hands grabbed my waist and lifted me into the air.

"Jake!" I giggled. He lifted me up and onto his shoulders. He set me down on the ground. I reached up and grabbed his hand. I pulled him around the house.

"Laila what are you doing?" He laughed. I tugged him along.

"I looking for Emily" I giggled. He let me tug him along the yard. Jake was 16, as I am ony 7.

"Emily come out!" Jake called. I dropped on my knees and crawled threw the bushes.

"Laila don't get your pants dirty" My mom called from the porch. I giggled when I found Emily curled up into a ball. She laughed with me. Jake pulled us both out and threw us on his shoulders. We both giggled. My mommy and daddy both look at us with love filled eyes. I smiled at them. Then, everything went bad. It all went by so fast. My daddy's eyes grew wide. My mom screamed.

Jake whipped around. Bullets rang threw the air. People emerged from the woods. Sirens broke out from the distance. The sky grew black with smoke.

"Jake, take them and run!" My dad yelled at us. My mom came over and hugged us.

"I love you with all my heart" She kissed us. A bullet came and ripped right threw her heart. My dad screamed. I watched her fall to the ground. Jake took me and Emily in his arms and ran into the woods. I caught a look at my dad fighting wolfs. He looked at me right before one ripped off his head. I scream was lodged in my throat. We ran fast and far into the woods.

It was to fast. We weren't running anymore. We were rolling on the ground. Jake dropped us. Growls and gun shots rang threw the air. Jake's hand clutched his side with blood running out.

'Run' He mouthed to me and Emily. I took her hand and ran to the woods. Not knowing where we are going, what to do. All we did, was run.

Chapter 1

Nine years later

The wind in my face, the sun shining high in the sky. I ran with Emily at my side. We ran faster once we smelt the running water. We emerged from the trees and splashed into the water. I licked the water. I rolled around in it. I splashed Emily with my tail. She looked up and me and growled. I barked a laughed as she tackled me. I walked up on land and shook myself of water. I shifted back to human. Emily doing the same.

"I need a shower bad" Emily said running her fingers threw her hair. I sighed.

"We can't even get close to a house without it behing on someone elses territory, you know that"

"I know" She sighed. I grabbed my backpack and put on some shorts and a bra.

"I hate carrying these while we run" Emily said holding up her torn backpack.

"Me too" I laughed and laid in the sun. "It feels good to just relax for a while" I commented. Emily nodded in agreement.

"Where are we?" She asked.

"I don't really know or care" She laughed and laid down next to me.

The next thing I knew I was opening my eyes to complete blackness. I sat straight up and looked for Emily. She was sleeping soundly next to me. I stretched and sighed. My stomach growled for food. I quietly laughed and stood up. A twig snapped in the distance. I kept my senses alert and kicked Emily.

"What?" She groaned.

"Shh, listen" She became alert and stood up, grabbing our stuff. "Shift" I told her. I striped off my clothes and shifted. Are senses were more clear in wolf form. I could hear wolves breathing on the outskirts of the woods.

'They are all around us' I told Emily in your mind link.

'1...2...3!" We took off running. We jumped the stream. I yelped loudly as I landed on something sharp. Emily looked over at me.

'I'm fine' I sighed and comtinued to run. I could hear them behind us. We entered the woods. My breathing was heavy. I ducked and leaped over branches. Emily and I skidded to a stop when wolfs were standing in front of us. The ones that were chasing us stopped and they all surrounded us. I let out a low warning growl.

"Stop!" I voice boomed threw the trees. The voice made me want to back down. But I showed no mercy. Emily shiffened at the voice. I looked over at her and she shook the feeling. A wolf stepped closer to Emily. I jumped in front of her and growled, threating. I would give my life for Emily's. She's all I have left.

Emily nudged me with her head. I looked over at her,

'It's fine' I nodded and stood next to her. Tall and proud. I had alpha blood running threw me. Making me taller than the rest of them. My dad was Alpha of our pack, Emily's dad was beta. Until we got destoryed.

"Shift back rogue" A voice demanded. A handsom looking guy stepped out from the trees only wearing shorts. Showing off his perfect chest. Emily stiffened next to me. His eyes landed on Emily and his gaze soften. "Show yourself" He said in a lower sexier voice.

'Should we' I asked Emily. She looked at me and nodded. I went over behind and tree and dropped my backpack on the floor. I shifted back and slipped my clothes on. I stepped out and looked at all the males surrounding me. The alpha's eyes weren't on me though. But he was staring lovingly at Emily. She found her mate.
