Picture of Laila on the side!

Chapter 7

--Emily's POV--

After I left the Alpha's office I was actually happy to leave. Not about leaving Laila but leaving Laila in her mates hands. I know he's going to have his hands full with her around. I chuckled at the thought. The alpha's beta adressed me to his car where we would be driving to the boarder. I would have to run another 5 miles before I reached Luke's land.

The car ride was silent. The beta kept his eyes on the road.

"So, how come beautiful girls like you and Laila are rogues?" He asked, breaking the silence.

"Well our pack was destoryed. We were the only survivors. Laila watched her whole family get killed in ways I could have never handled that. But then, I never got to see my family, say goodbye" I felt a tear fall from my eyes. I looked away from him and looked out the window.

"I'm sorry" He aplolgize. I smiled at him.

When we reached the boarder he helped me out of the car. I took off towards the direction he told me to go in. I waved goodbye as he drove away. I ran onto no man's land. Just 5 miles, I thought to myself. I took off my clothes behind a tree and shifted. I grabbed my clothes in my hand and took off towards Luke's land.

About 2 miles into the land the hair on the back of my neck stood on end. I stopped and looked around. Nothing unusual looked out of place. But something wasn't right.

'Luke' I whispered. He was my mate, hopfully I can comunicate with him.

'Oh thank god Emily! Where are you? I'm coming to get you' He sounded relived and nervous.

'I'm about 3 miles away from your land. Somethings not right though'

'Just keep running' He told me. I sighed and ran as fast as I could. Claws dug into my sides and we rolled on the ground. A burning sensation came from my sides.

'Hurry' I whimpered to Luke. I felt his wolf body increase in speed. I blocked out all thoughts and focused on the rogue in front of me. I stood up and looked at him. His teeth were bared. He took a step closer and I growled loud. He didn't seem to like my warning growl. He lunged for me, I waited for the pain. But it never came. I opened my eyes and the rogue was on the ground with Luke on top of it. I never really knew how to fight. Laila always protected me when it came to fights.

I closed my eyes as Luke killed the rogue. I hated seeing wolfs die. Luke nudged my side.I opened my eyes and looked up and him. His wolf was so much bigger than mine. I opened my thoughts back up.

'God dammit Emily answer me!' Laila shouted.

'I'm here, I'm ok. I just ran into some trouble' I reasurred her. I really didn't listen to her talking. I watched at Luke inspected my wound.

'Let's go home' He said. I nodded and walked next to him. I was leaning on him, he didn't seem to mind supporting most my weight. I dropped to the ground about a mile away from the land. I was exausted.

'Emily, go change. Ill carry you the rest of the way' He said. I slowly got up and shifted back. I slipped my clothes on and came out from behind the tree. My legs shook as I walked over to him. He had also shifted back. I expected him to carry me in wolf form but I guess not. He picked me up as if I weighted nothing. I probably don't to him.

"Go to sleep. Ill be there when you wake up" He kissed my forehead before I fell into a deep sleep.

--Laila--

Instead of waking up on the lumpy bed, I woke up on the soft, warm bed in Damian's room. My leg was still throbbing with pain. I sat up and noticed the room was empty. I sighed and carefully put my legs over the bed.

"Don't even think about it" Damian said from the closet. I chuckled. I looked up to meet his eyes. He was in dark blue jeans and no shirt.

"Do you not own a shirt?" I asked. He smiled.

"Why you don't like this?" He gestured towards his abs. I raised my eye brow at him. He laughed and walked back into the closet. I got down from the bed not putting any pressure on my leg. He came back with a tightly fitted shirt.

"Tell me why your single again?" I asked winking at him. His arms looped around my waist and pulled me closer to him.

"Who said I was single" He kissed my lips lightly. "What are you doing today?" He asked.

"Not much" I said looking down at my leg.

"Would you like to spend the day with me?" He asked looking down at me.

"Yes" I giggled as he picked me up. I wrapped my legs around his waist. It felt better not standing. I sighed in relief.

"What''s wrong?" He asked looking at me.

"My leg was starting to hurt" He gave me a pained smile.

"I'm going to get ready" I said unwrapping my legs from him. He slowly put me down.

"If you need any help, I'm here" He offered. I stood on my tip toes and kissed him. I pulled away and limped into the bathroom. I washed my hair in the tub. It was the first time I actually washed my hair in a while. Emily and I would sometimes sneak into other peoples houses while they were out and take showers and grab things. I stripped my clothes off and washed my body. Leaving my leg alone. I dried myself off and brushed threw my hair. My stomach growled with nothing in it. I haven't ate in almost a week. I need food.

"Do you need me to make you something to eat?" Damian chuckled.

"You heard that?" I asked

"I bet the whole house did" I laughed.

"Yes please" I said wrapping a towl around my small little frame. I limped out of the hot bathroom and into the closet. I remembered I had nothing to wear.

"Damian!" I kind of yelled, knowing he could hear me. He was in the closet in less then a minute.

"What's wrong?" He asked. Looking me over, noticing what I was wearing. A low growl came from his chest.

"Stop" I slapped his chest. He faked hurt. "I have nothing to wear" I said. I looked up at him and he was thinking.

"How about you borrow some of my sisters clothes and we can go shopping after we eat?" He asked.

"You don't have to-"

"Please?" He begged. That was the first time I have ever heard a guy beg to go shopping with a girl. I laughed and nodded. He left the room and came back with a pile of clothes.

"She said these would probably fit you" He handed me the clothes and walked out of the closet. I shut the door and let the towel fall from my body. I slipped on the clothes and looked into the mirror. I didn't recognize the girl in the mirror. She was someone different.
