Emily was standing at the side of the stage. She had just done the group performance, and Polly's group was about to do their dance. Emily was supposed to go first, but Polly had somehow persuaded Miss Martin to let her go first.Emily looked out to the crowd once more. She saw Daniel, Corbyn, Zach, Emma, Jonah, Jade, even Hailey and Alayna and Bailey and Logan. Jack was standing beside Emily, holding onto her hand tight.
He had come over to talk once she was done dancing. Emily was about to say something when the music to Polly's dance began. Emily's eyes widened and she turned her head to see Polly dancing the exact dance Emily and her group had been practicing the last week or so.
*flashback*
Emily and her group had come to the dance studio late during the week. Emily knew they had to run over the dance a few more times, and Emily also needed to get her mind off of the whole Jack situation. She knew there was no point in waiting by her phone the whole time, waiting for that one text message.
They had run through the dance twice. Emily heard a floorboard squeak across the room and she quickly turned to see Polly.
"What are you doing here?" Emily asked.
"Just running through my dance," Polly smirked and walked away.
This left Emily feeling uneasy, like Polly had been doing something she shouldn't of.
*end of flashback*
"T-thats my dance," Emily stuttered, pointing at Polly dance her choreography
Emily looked at her dance group. She had to think quickly if she wanted to be Dance Captain again.
"Okay, so do you remember the dance we were doing before Polly came back?" Emily asked.
Everyone nodded.
"We're gonna do that dance, but of course there's gonna be changes," Emily explained the different changes. When she was done she walked over to the bored looking boy standing at the computer hooked up to all the speakers.
This bored boy was the sixteen year old nephew of Miss Martin who had no choice but to be here.
"I need you to change our song,"
The boy nodded lazily and sat up on his chair, waiting for Emily's instructions.
"The song is 'Come Hang Out' by AJR,"
Emily jogged back over to her friends. Polly was just finishing up. Emily told Jack to go back to his seat, and be prepared to be blown away.
Emily was going up the steps, followed by her group, as Polly was going down, and as Polly passed she bumped her shoulder into Emily's and winked. This made Emily's need to beat her that more great.
Then the music started and Emily could see the look on Polly's face at the back of the hall. She flicked her hair over her shoulder and walked away.
When they had finished, Emily and her group gathered at one side of the stage, while Polly and her group were at the other.
"Well as you can see, both groups did amazingly, but only one can win," Emily felt Emma squeeze her hand. "And that winner is miss Emily Paul,"
Emily and her friends started to celebrate and through it all Emily could hear Logan and the boys clapping and cheering her on.
Emily made it down off the stage, still buzzing from her recent high. Everyone was waiting and the first person she greeted was Logan. He had been there through it all, to bring her to every competition and class there was.
"How about we celebrate with some Pizza," Logan suggested. He was holding his Vlog camera as usual, and Emily was hoping he had filmed it all, so she could look back and see just how good she had done, and to relive Polly's hissy fit at not getting her way.
