You're My Star (Black Star X Maka)

The Date

It's Saturday today.. It's a nice looking day today.. I have my date with Black Star today..

It's just a simple date, right? Besides, I talked with him just fine yesterday. A date is like hanging out with my friends like I normally do but this time just with Black Star. 

Maybe I'll just wear my normal clothes... He doesn't expect me to wear something fancy, does he? Well if he does then too bad. 

"Hey. Maka," I turned my head, "Oh. Hey Soul, what's up?" "Just making sure... Did you finish with your soul wavelength attack. Stein needs to see it next week along with everyone else. We'll be presenting with our resonance team." 

"Oh. I forgot about that. Well, I improved a little since I can kinda spark my wavelength to my hand. But the attack itself isn't 100% done. Maybe I'll ask Black Star if he can help me out today." He nod and grabbed his bike's keys. "I'm gonna get some groceries. You can get ready for your date or something," he said. 

I rolled my eyes and the time flew by quickly as I practiced with my soul and did a whole bunch of other stuff. Soon, I found it to be 6:00 and I started getting ready. At 6:50, I head out. At this time, I kinda expect Black Star to be a little bit... late. It's normally like him to be like that anyways.

After buttoning my black coat, I went outside and stopped by a specific shop Black Star and I used to love when we were still kids. After purchasing a "special something". I continued my walk to the court and sat on the bench on the side. Of course he's not here yet...

Suddenly, I felt a strong soul nearby and sat up, turning around. "Uh. Sorry. Did I make you wait?" Black Star said, smiling sheepishly. I shook my head 'no' and Black Star looked around the corner as if he was expecting someone to be there. I think I saw a flash of red hair, but I couldn't tell.

"Is something the matter?" I asked him, starting to worry a bit. He gave me his signature grin. "Nah!" I smiled and he brought me to the place he, Kid and I practiced our Chain Resonance. We sat on the wall giving a perfect view of Death City and Black Star scratched his head nervously.

I tilted my head and as if I asked a question, Black Star spoke. "I, uh... This is my first date. I know you've been on a date before, but.... Gah. A big star like me isn't supposed to embarass himself!" I giggled and reassuringly put a hand on his shoulder.

He tensed at my touch but then calmed down. "Black Star, it's fine. I was like this during my very first date too, y'know." He nodded and looked at the sunset. "This place may not have the best memories, but it sure is a good place for peace and quiet." 

I looked at Black Star with a neutral expression. He's not blabbering that much about how he wants to surpass God or anything stupid like that....

"The truth is, I come here a lot of times when I'm upset. It makes me feel more carefree than I already am, y'know?" I nodded in agreement and we sat in silence. Then I shuffled around in my bag, looking for something. 

Black Star looked at me with a confused face and I took his hand, placing something light and somewhat small in it. He looked at his hand and I turned away shyly. I could feel his smile while he talked, "Thanks. You made me feel a little better..." 

That store earlier sold a bunch of stuff in it. The two of us loved going there and bought what we found rather interesting every Friday. I fidgeted and sighed lightly.

"You're my childhood friend, Black Star. I knew you more than Soul or Tsubaki or anybody, really. I know a lot about you that other people don't. And you know more about me than Soul probably does. It's not exactly easy to forget the things we both liked. One thing I never forgot about you is your silly soft spot for sweets..." 

He chuckled and we sat in silence once more. The he brought up something that kinda ruined our friendship a while back.

"Hey, Maka.... What happened to us?" "Whaddya mean?" He turned to me, "What do you think? I'm some kind of assassin, ninja, God-surpassing big man now... And you're some up-tight, strict bookworm. Before, we weren't any of those." 

I shrugged and hugged my arms, "We grew up, Black Star. Being a kid is nice.... But we all grow up someday, right?" He nodded without looking at me and without me looking at him.

....

"Do you remember how we met?"
