*Aquaila's POV*

I walked through Death City casually with my partner and smiled to myself. Maka Albarn... She is a threat to all witches. With her Anti-Magic Wavelength and Grigori Soul... You must be dealt with. And I know the perfect way! I'll use the one precious to her against her...

His name is Black Star, isn't it?

*Maka's POV*

After the announcement, I returned to class with Black Star and Kid. We were just in time since it was our turn to perform. The senior meisters brought in a large Kishin, ensuring that it wouldn't attack or escape until we were ready to fight. Soul, Tsubaki and the Thompson sisters transformed and we prepared to fight.

"Be careful not to kill the Kishin with your weapons," Stein started, "All you need to do is hit it with your wavelength. Black Star, you begin since you are the most experienced. Kid, you follow. And Maka, you finish, understand?" "Yes," I said with a focused face.

Kid smiled at me and squeezed my shoulder reassuringly. "You can do this," he whispered. I smiled and nodded with a light blush. I heard Black Star cluck his tongue that came out like "tsk" and we began. The Kishin was released to attack and Black Star easily started with Soul Menace.

He deflected the Kishin's claws with Tsubaki and got it to head to Kid. His move came out nicely and Stein wrote something on his clipboard. The Kishin made it's way to me and growled. I glanced at Black Star who nodded at me with a grin.

I held out my palm as it charged for me and I closed my eyes. It's coming closer... "Maka!" Soul cried out. I shot my eyes open and my wavelength burst out like a laser. It was.... "Nice one! Who knew a noob could perform Soul Menace like the great me!" Black Star said.

My attention turned to my palm and I smiled to myself. Soul Menace, huh? "Good job, you three. Next team, get ready now." We sat back down and I used Soul Perception. I'll take Aquaila down by myself... I'm strong... I don't need people worrying about every little detail...

After school ended, I made up an excuse and ran around Death City searching for Aquaila. Soon, I pressed my back against a wall, seeing Aquaila in a deserted part of the city with her weapon in her hands. This time, it was in Liz and Patty's gun form.

"No need to hide, Ms. Albarn. I know you're there," she said without turning to face me. I narrowed my eyes and stepped out of hiding. "I know now, Aquaila. You're a witch." She laughed and placed a hand on her hip. "You just noticed, Maka?" She's teasing me... She looked around for a while as if she was looking for someone. "Hey, you don't have anyone with you?"

"I can protect myself..." I said, even though I wasn't entirely sure. "I'll take you down without any help from my friends." She smirked. I know I don't exactly believe that I could last long without help, but I have to try. I have to do this alone.

Aquaila laughed. "Aw... Look how confident you are! You seriously think you can defeat me alone? And just with that little soul attack of your's? You know, I bet one of your friends will come looking for you and ruin the moment." I narrowed my eyes, "I made sure they wouldn't..."

She smirked and pointed her weapon at me. "Now what's that little thing you say before attacking a Kishin or a witch or something? Your soul is mine? Lame!" I closed my eyes and focused. This is a serious battle. A witch weilding a weapon against just me.

"Ready?"
