Cleopatra stayed in her room for the rest of the day and night. She ignored the hungry feeling in her stomach, even yelling at Tyson and Hiro’s grandfather when he asked whether or not she wanted something to eat. She didn’t want to speak to the grandfather. She wanted Hiro to apologise for the way he treated her.
She was used to starving herself. She could go without food for days. This was nothing.
When morning came, Cleopatra finally left her room. She was wearing a pair of white cut-off shorts and a black tank top with the words ‘kick ass’ on it in silver. She left her hair out, the long strands floating out behind her as she walked.
She stalked through the hallways until she found the tea room. There she saw Hiro and his grandfather sitting at the table. Hiro didn’t even look up when she entered, making Cleopatra’s eye twitch in annoyance.
“Ah, good morning little dudette!” Gramps greeted in his difficult to understand language.
“Morning,” Cleopatra muttered as she folded her arms under her bust, hatefully ignoring Hiro.
“Would you like some breakfast?” Gramps asked her.
“I can get my own breakfast, thank you,” Cleopatra said. Her voice was terse, yet polite at the same time. She then turned to Hiro and glared. “If I am allowed to use your kitchen, that is?”
“It doesn’t hurt to ask, does it?” Hiro snapped at her, not even looking in her direction.
Cleopatra clenched her jaw painfully tight. A scathing retort sat on her lips, but she bit her tongue when grandpa Granger sent Hiro this telling look. Hiro glanced at his grandfather and held his gaze for a moment, looking defiant. Hiro then looked away.
Cleopatra smirked to herself when she heard Hiro utter a very terse ‘sorry’ to her. It wasn’t what she really wanted, but at least it was something. She still hadn’t forgiven him yet. It will do for now.
“Tyson was released from hospital last night,” Gramps said as he looked at his paper. “He should be waking up soon.”
“Alright,” Cleopatra said as she moved toward the kitchen. “I’ll make him some breakfast, too.” She was going to have her breakfast first, though. He could wait a little bit longer.
Heading straight to the refrigerator, Cleopatra looked inside and frowned. On the shelf was some fresh chicken pieces. Seeing them instantly made her feel even more annoyed about what occurred last night. Why did Hiro have to be such an asshole about some pieces of chicken? It wasn’t like he couldn’t get some more. In fact, he did!
Cleopatra grabbed the milk and slammed the fridge shut. She made herself a quick breakfast and ate it while trying to calm herself down. No, she shouldn’t let Hiro get to her. He was obviously trying to get under her skin. He probably liked seeing her upset and angry. She has been told that she looks beautiful when she cries.
“Jerk,” Cleopatra muttered as she finished her breakfast. She then made Tyson something to eat. She decided to give him a special breakfast, something that she had created herself. An original recipe. Tyson loved food and was always eating, so how could he resist this?
Placing his food on a tray, Cleopatra picked up the tray and headed toward Tyson’s room. She didn’t ask for directions, she didn’t need help, she’ll find his room on her own. And she managed to find it almost immediately. Cleopatra smirked to herself. It was the room closest to the kitchen.
Without knocking, Cleopatra used her elbow to open the door and gave a warm smile as she stepped inside.
“Good morning,” she greeted gently, noting that Tyson was sitting up in bed reading a magazine about Beyblade. “I bet it’s great getting out of the hospital, huh?”
