The Assassian

     As the gang made there way towards the earth kingdom they began to come up with a plan to see the Earth King. Shinta rested near Toph on Appa's saddle as he watched the others plan out what they should do. A few minutes had passed until Shinta spoke up about an idea.
   "I did hear from the last time I was in Ba Sing Se the Earth King was well at the time planning the birthday for is pet." He says and the others look towards him.
  "His pet what?" Aang asked.
   "I don't know but the party will be happening in a couple of weeks so we have to be prepared." He answers "Since this party will be high class we have to learn manners, I could teach you."
  "No don't teach them it would take years for them to get it let's just dress up sugar queen and get inside the palace."Toph says "looking" off to another direction.
  "That's actually a good idea Toph, I'll go with you and Katara."Shinta says as he looks towards Katara which causes her to blush and for Aang to get jealous.
   "No lightfoot you stay with the boys." Toph says turning her head towards Shinta.
  "But I know how to act in front of upper class and royalty." He says looking back towards Toph. "I have met one royal many times when I was younger."
   "Well then who was this supposed royal that you met?" Toph says glaring a bit towards him, the others became interested.
   "Well tell us." Katara said excitedly and smiles.
   "Come on tell us please?" begs Sokka and Shinta sighs and looks away.
      "It was...the fire lord...I was an assassin that he hired to kill people that were plotting against him" he answers still looking down as the others fell into a silence, out of nowhere Sokka throws his boomerang at Shinta's head causing him fall back onto there belongs tied to the back of the saddle. As Sokka glares at Shinta, Aang goes to ask him a question.
  "......Shinta...why didn't you-" he starts to say.
   "Aang find a place to land Appa...Now." Sokka orders but Aang goes to say something when he stops and does what Sokka says.
    When they land Shinta quickly gets off with his belongings, he turns towards them and bows.
  "I'm sorry I never told you my past...I know you think you can't trust me but......People can change no matter how horrible there past was......just remember that." Shinta says as he straightens up to look at them, he places his kasa on his head and sighs and looks off towards the distance."I guess I have to start wandering on my own again......good luck Avatar and friends." He ends his sentence with a quick bow and begins walking off into the forest.
   Aang looks down and clenches his fist.
   "He's right, people change Sokka." He says turning quickly towards the others."He helped us in that earth kingdom village."
   "He could've been playing around with us waiting for the perfect time to strike, you heard him your self he had met the Fire Lord many times he said he was an assassin. The Fire Lord could've hired him to kill us!" Sokka yelled.
   "Guys please let's not fight, we should go find him and Toph can tell us if he's lying or not......Look Sokka I know your trying to protect us but Shinta was no longer an enemy to us." Katara says while stepping in between them when they all hear Toph gasp at something.
  "I think he's in trouble! A bunch of people just should up out of nowhere and are attacking him, he's fighting back but-" she was cut off by Aang running into the direction Shinta had walked to, the others quickly follow.
    A few minutes later they find Shinta fighting off a masked a-salient and they could see he's been wounded while the a-salient goes for another attack and slashes Shinta across the chest with his kodachi (a short sword in between a full katana and a dagger), blood sprays from Shinta's wound and he falls to the ground.
   "SHINTA!!" Katara screams in horror. As soon as this happened Aang causes his avatar state to be activated by his anger causing a huge destruction of the area of the forest they are in. Katara tries to calm Aang down while Toph and Sokka hide inside an earth tent Toph had made to protect them from the harsh winds that surrounded the area.
    "Aang please calm down he could still be alive, please calm down Aang!" She yells and Aang slowly calms and falls into Katara's arms.
    "K-Katara......go help......Shinta." Aang says tiredly, she nods and hands him to Sokka who had came outside the rock tent. Katara runs over to where Shinta is laying, as she pulls out water to heal him when she notices his wound is healing on its own, she shrugs and begins to heal him.
       An hour later Shinta wakes up lying on Appa's saddle he noticed they must be flying from how the wind was gently rushing over him, he groans and tries to sit up when he quickly winces in pain and grabs his chest in pain.
   "Your awake!" Yells Toph, quickly the others look towards him and Katara crawls over to him and hugs him gently.
   "I thought we lost you." She says, her voice sounds as if she has been crying for awhile.
   "I'm sorry to have worried you but why did you come back for me?" He ask looking up at the others.
    "Well......uuummm..."Sokka starts.
     "Aang went looking for because he believed you changed, I'm sorry my brother was just trying to protect us." Katara says as she let's go of him.
    "It's ok I understand why he would be protective over all of you." He says and looks towards Sokka. "Your doing a good job on protecting your friends."
    "Oh umm thanks......" he says awkwardly.
      A few hours later into there fly out Sokka decided to ask Shinta a few questions about the fire nation.
     "So uummm Shinta can you tell us anything about the fire nation army?" He ask looking towards him.
     "Well the army is well trained in certain areas and one of the worlds most strongest armies, that is as much as I know." Shinta answers.
  "But you said you-." Sokka started to say.
   "I was an hired assassin, I was never at any of the war meetings I stood outside the door. I hung around the royal family to protect them I never exactly went into battle yet I was quite feared." Shinta says giving Sokka a blank expression.
   "Seriously then-wait how old are you?" Sokka ask realizing that you had to be around the age of sixteen to enter an army.
   "Yeah your right you never really told us a lot about your self." Says Katara as they all started to look towards him.
    "Let's fine a place to camp first Appa must be tired." He answers avoiding there questions.
   "Well he is right Appa is tired and it's getting late." Aang sees with the hint of disappointment because they barely no anything about there comrade.
   "Fine but ur telling us when we finish setting up camp." Sokka says and looks away from him.
   "Ok I will." Shinta sighs wondering how they would think of him after he told them about his past.
