Chapter 10~
Falling from Hell to Nothing

Lucy laid awake that night, staring at the ceiling of the cottage, Snow sleeping at her side. She couldn't help thinking of the pain and torture she would have to be punished with. She couldn't believe they were doing this to her- she even thought Severus wouldn't allow this to happen to her, as he knew what it was like there.
Within a few hours sunlight was shining though the window and her
Uncle opened the door.

"Good morning," he said softly, smiling at Lucy with the saddest smile he could muster. Whether or not he would be losing his niece in a few hours, he was happy to know she was alive and safe. Snow sat up with a yawn, smiling at her father.

"Morning Da- Moony," she greeted, correcting her self.

"Morning to you too, Snow-Bell," He said with a grin. Lucy felt her heart ache, but she didn't show it, through she knew Toby would know now, he was reading emotions like crazy last night, and showing off his Windcaro magic. June had been reading everyone's minds and Snow had been bonding with her father. Lucy had been left alone, but at least she had Severus to talk to until he became interested in Toby's magic as well, leaving her all alone

Like always, a little voice in her head laughed at her.
Lucy got out of the bed and went past her uncle- he didn't even notice. Lucy walked past everyone- Dumbledore, McGonagall and Severus all stayed over, interested in the others- not boring old Lucy with her stupid photographic memory and Animeguni Powers... no they wanted Toby with his Windcaso powers, June and her mind reading and Snow, Snow got her uncle, the only one she had left.

No one wanted Lucy.

Lucy sat outside, not noticing Severus coming up behind her. Severus felt sorry for the poor girl- Lupin was too busy with his own kid to notice his niece, Albus was too busy with Tobian, and June got all of McGonagalls attention. Severus sat beside Lucy, startling her.

"I understand," Severus muttered beside her.

"Do you? Is your father a Deranged Prisoner? Is your mother dead after dying in the Dark Lords hands? Did you get abandoned after helping your cousins-" Lucy stopped for a moment before continuing, "Are you going back to hell, no, are you going to fall through hell in a few hours?"

Severus stayed silent taking in the girls words.

"I thought not," she sighed, looking sadly at the ground.

"No," Severus started, he had no I dea what he was doing but he wanted to comfort the girl- just as her mother did to him many years ago. He wanted to protect her like her mother did for him back in their school days. Severus wanted to see her smile.

Em
"I have the feeling you don't laugh much anymore," Lucy said, looking up at the greasy haired man.

"Too true, Hope, to true," Severus said, looking at Lucy like she wasn't Lucy.

"Your talking to my mum, not me," She said softly.

"I can teach you how to use your powers now, I helped your mother with her training," Severus offered.

Lucy's eyes lit up, "Really? even while I'm at the orphanage?"

"Of course," Severus said, smiling at the brown haired, amber eyed girl next to him, "let's start now."

Severus stood up, helping up the beaming amber eyes girl.

"Concentrate on a animal," Severus commanded. Lucy closed her eyes tight, looking like she was deep in thought.

"What do you see?" Severus asked.

"A-a skeleton horse, I-it's black, like obsidian and has no eyes, well except for a faint obsidian glow from its sockets....It keeps looking at me with such guilt a pity..." Lucy explained.

'A threstrial,' Severus thought, 'How could such a young girl be able to see such a creature?'

Lucy disappeared, and Severus looked around.
"Lucy?" He called. He felt a sudden nudge in his side and turned to see a threstrial, one with odd amber eyes.

"Well done!" Severus praised, making Lucy beam. Little did she know, Severus hated children and never praised any student he taught.

"Now you have to change back," Severus said, "think about your se-"
Lucy was standing in front of him. "what next?" She asked excitedly.

"Let's have some fun with your powers," Severus said, the happy look in his eyes from his childhood- before fifth year that is.

"What kind of fun?" Lucy asked.

"Let's see how fast you can turn into a animal- ill shout out a name and you turn into it, got it?" Severus explained, grinning wider inwardly at the child's fascinated expression.

"Yes sir!" She giggled.

"Lion!"

Lucy changed into a golden lioness, amber eyes piecing Severus' heart.

"Timber Wolf!" Severus called out.

A beautiful grey wolf with glowing amber eyes stood before him.

The game went on for about a hour, each time a animal appeared, but always had those beautiful amber eyes.

Lucy yawned, changing back into a human just as Remus came outside.

"Time to go," he said, before walking back inside. Lucy ran up and hugged Severus, much to his surprise.

"See you at Hogwarts," She whispered, her voice lost its happy and giddy tone, leaving it hollow and cold, but more obvious, she was shaking with fear. Severus hugged the girl back.

"I have to keep a act up for the other teachers and students, but when you come fore training, we can act like best friends like how we are now, understand?" Severus asked the child.

"Of course, just as I can't show weakness at the orphanage," Lucy said, understanding Severus' words. Severus' heart ached, he still couldn't believe Dumbledore was sending her back there.

Lucy let go of Severus and walked inside, Severus following behind.

---------------------------------------------

Lucy stood in front of Calibree Orphanage for Abandoned Children, her legs shook with fear, but Dumbledore walked along.

"This is where I leave you, see you in two days," Dumbledore said, a apperating on the spot with a pop.

Lucy shivered in fear and disgust. Lucy walked up to the doors, and knocked. Ms.Kingsdon opened the door, and laughed in her face.

"Not wanted are you?" She laughed.

"No you sorry excuse for a bitch, I'm only staying for two days!" Lucy snapped.

Ms.Kingsdon grabbed Lucy by the hair and threw her against the wall.

"I knew another girl like you, she had fake friends, one was a boy named Rot," She hissed and kicked Lucy. Lucy saw stars in her eyes, but stood shakily.

"I'm not afraid of you," she managed to choke out.

"How about I give you something to be afraid of, little runt!" Ms. Kingsdon growled out, and slammed Lucy into the wall;feeding her into the darkness.

Lucy groaned, a faint throbbing in her head. She sat up and immediately fell back down, but not in pain; she had a collar and think chains around her neck.

"Bloody hell!" She gasped.

"Hell is correct, Black," Ms.Kingsdon hissed. Her batty black hair and red eyes were clear on her face, and she was holding a piece of metal that glowed, the end of it a moon with a X through it. A branding spike.
