One For All (Villain!Deku AU)

EDIT: Sorry if this chapter seems rushed; the next chapters kind of slow down after this one. (This is my first time writing a fanfic, so bear with me!)

"I can not simply say: 'You can become a hero, even without power'."

Despite the words that he All Might told him, Midoriya Izuku had prevailed, as he inherited One For All, and got accepted into U.A. High. Even though he achieved the first step to become the hero that he wanted to be, his mind was still filled with doubt. The condescending phrases from his "best friend", Bakugou Katsuki, constantly made him think about his choices. It encouraged him to try his best... But at the same time, it caused conflict to present itself in Izuku's pressured mind. He had to take on the task of being a vessel for One For All, and to take on All Might's role as the Symbol of Peace. Izuku's confidence drained slowly after the quirk apprehension test.

"You'll just be decked and turned into a useless doll after saving one person."

Shouta Aizawa, also known as the hero Eraserhead, filled Izuku's mind with doubt. 'Maybe he's right... But if I concentrate all the energy into my index finger...' The green-haired boy's hope was the only thing driving him to try his best. He had beat Bakugou's score, but his overall score was still the lowest, out of all his classmates. 'As expected of a used-to-be quirkless kid, right?' Izuku had gotten a slip to Recovery Girl's office, to get his finger healed up. He wanted to become a hero. Anything's possible if you try, right? But at the same time, he thought on the contrary.

He couldn't become a hero. He would never exceed everyone's expectations. His level of confidence, the only thing driving him to become a hero, was slim to none. But his confidence was growing. He will become a hero. Midoriya Izuku. The quirkless wonder who became a hero.

When arriving back to class, his teacher and his classmates walked in, seeing a shaken Izuku. His eyes were sullen, but yet, his smile shined brightly. Bakugou scowled at Izuku. "How can ya' still be so happy after you got last place?" Those words stabbed Izuku, but he continued to smile. "There's always opportunities for improvement, Kacchan-"

Slap.

"Shut up, Deku."

During lunch, everyone saw Izuku sulking in the corner of the dining hall. Bakugou approached him; Izuku's inferior attitude causing him to pick up his lunch and attempt to walk away. "Deku." The ash blonde grabbed Izuku's shoulder.

"Your tears just make you look weak." Bakugou smirked. "But... Wait a second. You already are!" His voice echoed throughout the dining hall. Everyone was staring at Izuku, whispering to each other and smirking towards him. He grabbed the hand on his shoulder, sinking his nails in. As Bakugou retracted his hand in pain, the lesser ran off.

'I know that I can be a hero... But yet, why am I crying?' Izuku's hope stayed strong.

Watching from a distance, All Might knew that he had to be the role model that Izuku always thought of him as. Catching up to him at the school entrance, he called out, "Young Midoriya! I have the need to tell you something important!" Izuku stopped running, and turned to face All Might. "You have potential! Do not let the comments of others perturb you!" Nodding with tears in his eyes, Izuku bolted off, not noticing that he was using One For All to achieve such a fast speed. "Midoriya Izuku..." All Might, dismayed, knew that he had to use everything in his power to make sure that his successor doesn't turn to the side of villainy.

For the rest of the school day, no one had seen him. Bakugou, claiming that he didn't give a care in the world about Izuku, went off to Izuku's house in hopes of seeing him.
