Chapter:3

Find out who your friends are started playing at three in the morning the day before school started. I picked it up seeing Levi calling. I immediately answered. "Hey dude what happened?" I asked right away. "Could you come get me?" He asked. "Yeah. I'll be there in a second." I told him as I jumped out of bed pulling a pair of shorts on then grabbing a random pair of shoes.

I quietly went down the stairs and out the front door with my truck keys in hand. Of course Travis would have gone along if I had told him but Levi sounded like he just needed his best friend. I pulled up to his drive he jumped in the second I stopped. I pulled away driving to our hideaway. I parked at the gate and got out.

We both got into the bed. "He came home drunk. My mom. She. She." I hugged him close to me. Then sent out a mass text to our friends. In just a few short seconds the two of us were surrounded by our friends. "I couldn't do anything about it." Levi said. I kept my arms around his neck. "Levi. Would you like to go back to my house for the rest of the night?" I asked him.

I could tell Travis was on the other side of him. "I'd need clothes. He locked me out of the house. He took my house and truck keys. I can't get anything I need." He said. "I'll let you borrow some of my clothes dude. But first we're going to talk to a certain uncle about this." Travis said. Yup going to visit uncle Alex at work at four in the morning.

"I'll take him over. He'll go the easiest on me." I said. "The rest of us better get home before we all get into trouble with our parents." Louis said. We split ways me taking Levi to the police station. Alex was elected the chief of police five years ago after being an officer for ten years. We got there parking outside.

I got out Levi following. We went up to the front desk asking to speak with the chief. The man behind the desk said no. I then told Alex that Levi needed to talk to him. He asked where we were. I told him in the lobby. I'm sure he was getting irritated by how often we've been here this year alone. He came into the lobby telling the man it was alright for us to follow him.

"What did he do this time?" Alex asked. "Came home drunk. Locked me out of the house after knocking my mom unconscious." Levi said. "And the black eye?" Alex asked. "He." Levi didn't say anymore. "He hit you." Alex said. Levi nodded. "Presley take him to your house. I'll discuss things with his mom's husband." Alex said before standing. I nodded leading the way out. "He's going to kill me for going to him." Levi said as we walked down the hall.

Once in the truck I looked over at him. "He's not going to get you since you said that. Knowing Alex he stood at the doorway listening in on any threats that man made to you or your mom. You know your dad was his best buddy. He'd do anything to keep you from harm as will the rest of our dads." I said. He only nodded. I pulled up to the house seeing my dad on the front porch. I got out before Levi going around and up to the porch. Levi following.

"That man again?" Dad asked him. I'm sure he nodded to my dad. "Get back to bed. We've got a busy day ahead." Dad said as we went up the stairs him watching. I left my bedroom door open and got back into bed. Levi laid down on the opposite side of my bed. "Do you think Alex has had enough of my stepfather?" He asked. "Yeah." I answered. "When do you think he'll be going over there?" He asked. "Probably right after we left. That's probably why he told me to take you back to my place." I told him.

"Try to get some sleep dude. Your going to need it."
