"I'm sorry Presley. I know your our biggest help and you know all of the regulars and what they usually want. But I'm having to let you go." My boss said. "Your firing me?" I asked. "I'm sorry Presley. You were the last one hired." He said. "I'll be sending your last paycheck in the mail." I nodded before leaving the office.

I changed out of my waitress outfit into my jeans and long sleeve shirt. I then put my hoodie on and went out to my truck leaving my waitress outfit in the bathroom. Of course I took all of my tips with me. It was the only way I actually made a good buck. I then called Tyson asking if Jeck had a job opening. "What did they do to you for you to quit?" He asked. "Oh I should have quit. My boss let me off because I was the last one hired. I was the one that was making more money in tips than what my boss was paying me. The rest of those girls didn't care about the customers except the older women twice to three times my age." I told him.

"Come on by." He said before letting me hang up. I pulled up to the gate and punched the code in before driving through the gate. I went down the drive to the barn and parked out front. I got out slamming the door and went into the office. "Afternoon Presley. How's life?" Hyde asked coming from the office. "Could have been better." I said. "Tyson told me about the job. That's not even right." He said.

"Is there an opening?" I asked him. "Why don't you ask Jeck. I've got to go out and feed cattle. See you later." He said going out the door of the office. The other door opened and Jeck came out. "One second Presley. I need to add up these numbers." He said. I got up from my seat seeing what he was adding up. Math came easy to me. "Wouldn't that be two hundred and thirty five?" I asked.

He looked up at me before using the calculator next to him. "Yeah. You must have inherited being good at math from your dad." He said. "I am one math class up from the guys." I said. "Work these four out for me and you can get a job with numbers." He said. I did each problem adding and subtracting what needed to be. Then he went over it with a calculator.

"How would Monday work for you? You'll have the weekends free except when your needed." He said. "That will work just perfect. I'll come by once I'm out of school." I said. "That applies for breaks and the summer too." He said. "Just until college. By then I should have a person to take on the job." I smiled before we both stood. Good thing our parents are partners in business. I hugged him before saying goodbye.

As I stepped out of the office I heard Tyson yell, "Run away horse!" I stopped in my tracks just as the gelding came barreling down the isle. I flagged and blocked his exit. He reared almost hitting me. I grabbed his halter walking him in a tight circle. "My gosh. I was trying to get him to the cross ties and he shied." Tyson said grabbing him from me. "He's never shied at them. He didn't hurt you did he?"

"I'm fine. Maybe shaken up, but unhurt." I told him. "I've got to get him back. Please don't do something like that again. My cousin is already crazier than you." He said. "Then does that make him as crazy as me?" I asked him. "I don't know." He said. "Think he'd let me ride him?" I asked. "Who Bryan or the horse?" He asked. "The horse. Duh. Bryan isn't even around." I told him. "I wouldn't say that." Bryan said coming out of a stall.

If you looked at Bryan in the eyes you'd be able to see the crazy in his eyes. I then mounted onto the gelding bareback and rode away from the two of them. I found his stall and rode him right into it. Just as I dismounted a snake jumped from the straw. I opened the back door letting the gelding run out that way. Both of the cousins were at the stall door in seconds. "Presley." I heard Tyson warn. The pitchfork and a shovel was in the corner. Two types of weapons when need be. In a second I had the shovel embedded in between the snake's head and body.

It squirmed a bit as I picked it up with the shovel. "Still think I'm crazy?" I asked Tyson. "Insane." Tyson answered.
