Truck yeah started playing as I dug for my phone. Spring is right around the corner meaning rain and mud. Knowing Max he'll be asking for me to help him. I answered my phone from under my covers. "Yes?" I asked lazily. "Man when are you going to get a man?" Max asked. "Don't you even start." I told him. "When were you planning to help me with my mud toy?" He asked.

I looked at the time. "It's freakin six in the morning!" I told him. "I know there's going to be a big storm next week and I really need to get my truck up and running." He said. "Why not ask your dad?" I asked him. "He's already gone to his own shop." He said. I groaned dragging my butt out of bed. "I'll be there in a little bit." I said before hanging up.

I got dressed in ripped jeans and a tank top before putting my boots on and grabbing my keys. Oh did I mention that Chad got us a good deal on two trucks that were abandoned on his lot? My black f-150 truck was the latest model and was left on the lot like no one wanted it. My brother's red one was an old junker that the person just left with the keys in the console for anyone to steal. I went out the front door stretching before going out to my truck.

I climbed up and drove to Max's place. Once there I parked outside the garage and got out. I then noticed Wright's truck pulling in. "Max." I hollered looking around. I then looked back at who got out of the truck that was now beside mine. Him and Wright have gotten along better than the rest. "What is he wanting?" Wright asked leaning against his truck. "There's no telling." I said getting up and sitting on the grill guard. I then expertly sat on the hood like it was nothing.

A few minutes later Max came from the house already covered in oil and grease. "Why did you drag us out here?" I asked him. "To help me. I need your small hands to reach into the engine." He said. I slid off landing with my hands and feet on the concrete. We both then followed him back. "Up in the back is where I need you." Max said. "And how am I?" I asked. "That is why Wright is here." Max said. "So what are you going to do?" I asked. "I'm going to be catching what it is." He said.

"As in getting under the truck?" I asked him. "Yup. Have fun." He said. I climbed up onto the tire. Curse my short arms. I saw what he meant. "He's an idiot sometimes." I mumbled. The engine was still hot. I then got down. "I ain't dumb enough to touch a hot engine." I told Max. "It's not hot. I haven't ran it for a week." He said. "Then you get it." I told him.

"Your stubborn you know that." Max said getting out from under the truck. "Yeah. As a mule." I told him. I crossed my arms leaning back on the toolbox behind me. He got whatever it was and dropped it instantly. "That wasn't hot when I came out here a few minutes ago." He said. Then we heard chuckling. "Boys!" Max yelled before marching out of the shop.

My phone started ringing. I answered it knowing it was Lane. "Yo." I said. "Guess who proposed?" He asked. "Your girlfriend?" I asked. "Your oldest brother. And guess what she said!" He said. "Yes?" I asked. "She said yes! By this time next year we're going to be having our wedding. Remember last week when I was over talking to dad?" He asked. "How could I forget." I said.

"Hey I got to go she's calling." He said before hanging up. "Well that's one brother engaged." I said. "Which one?" Wright asked. "Lane. His girlfriend agreed to marry him." I said. Chad came into the garage. "Where's Max?" He asked. "Somewhere about to kill his brothers." I said. He left the garage to look for them. "So how did you survive with guys as friends?" He asked. "Simple. All I had to do was be tough enough to be meaner than them." I said walking around to the other side of the truck.

I then noticed a rag smoldering on the engine. "And smarter." I said picking the smoking rag up and going outside with it. I hosed it down with Wright behind me leaning on the tailgate. "Um. Could you come over to my house this Saturday?" He asked. "Need to talk?" I asked. "Yeah." He answered.
