My dad was still skeptical about Wright since he looked like someone my parents use to know and someone my mom dated for a little bit. I had to reassure them multiple times that he wasn't like any of the jerks that wanted to get in my pants. Of course the guys only joke about it with me because they all see me as a sister and friend instead of a hookup.

I ignored what my dad said about him for the ten thousandth time this year. Spring break was supposed to be fun except, I was grounded because I agreed to go over to Wright's house just to talk to him. I snuck out of the house because when one of my friends need to talk to someone, it's usually me. As I pulled up in front of the house he gave me the address to a man came out without any arms.

His stepdad. Someone who could be a bouncer for the local bar but instead has a modeling career. I got out slipping my keys into my back pocket. I only know this man from church. My dad has befriended him knowing who his stepson was. "Wright will be up in a few. Please come in." He said. I smiled thanking him for his offer. As said Wright came into the house as I sat down on a couch.

"One second please." He said before going down the hall. He then came back with a tee shirt on. His stepdad was back outside heading to a barn. "My mom is at work and my little brothers are playing in their room." He said. "So what were you wanting to talk about?" I asked him. "It's mostly my father. I heard he got out of prison two weeks ago. I have no clue what to do when he comes knocking on the front door." He said.

"I think you will try to defend your family." I said. "That's the little I know. What if he knocks me unconscious and kidnaps my mom and brothers?" He asked. "Your stepdad will be the one in front of you blocking the way of your father. I'm absolutely positively that your father would have to go through him to get to you, your mom and brothers." I said.

The doorbell rang. Wright's stepdad came into the house telling us to stay put. He had a shotgun in his hand as he came back from the hall. "Duck down." Wright said. I listened. We both hid behind the couch as his stepdad answered the door. "Afternoon sir. Are you the man of the house?" A man asked. My hand was tugged. I stayed low following Wright outside.

"That's my father. I don't know how he found us." He said. "My dad warned me about him. He really wanted to hurt him still from when he dated my mom." I said. "I'm not like him at all. I'd rather defend a girl than hurt her. My father walked out on my mom when he found out she was pregnant with twins." He said. "My dad was ecstatic when he found out my mom was pregnant with twins." I said.

"My dad was the one that calmed her nerves and helped her raise those two boys. He may have been a model and still is, but that doesn't change anything. Truth is, he was told he was physically unable to have biological children. That's when he found my mom and they got into a relationship. He met me on the first date and understood why my mom was looking for a man to love her and her children." He said. "I have a right to see my son!" The man yelled. "Come on. Let's see if you can sneak away." He said.

I followed him around the side of the house. The man was no where to be seen. "Get in and get out of here. I don't want to see you hurt." He said as he snuck up to the porch. I quietly went to my truck just as I got in my side window was shot out. I started my truck slinging gravel as I tore out of the drive. Not even a few seconds later I was being chased. I got on the first road I could and traveled it as fast as I could.

He was still behind me. After trying to shake him some more, he would always find which road I was on. I took a sharp turn going too fast hitting the ditch my truck going on two wheels before it went rolling. I was lucky enough to climb out unharmed or so I thought until I tried to stand in the dirt. My ankle throbbed and hurt. I hopped and dragged it. I then tripped over a branch landing in the dirt. He was right behind me. I dragged myself still almost to the gully.

He stomped on my ankle pinning me there. "Oh you look just like your momma. Except you have your father's eyes." He had a gun held to my head as I was trying not to break. "It's a shame though. Your father and I could have been friends if he hadn't interfered with your mother and I's relationship. Too bad he only had one daughter." I stabbed him in the arm making him miss my head.

My pocket knife landed right next to my nose. He grabbed my hair making my head hit the rock. "Hope you have fun out here in the sun." He said walking away. I was losing consciousness.
