It was already afternoon and Alfred needed to wake Bruce up. Bruce had a meeting with Lucious at 4:00, it was already 3:00 pm.
As Alfred walked in Bruce's room, he found his bed to be empty. Instantly, Alfred thought that Bruce was in the bat cave.
However, he was mistaken. Alfred was met by darkness and screeching bats with no Bruce or batman.
Surely if Bruce was awake, Alfred would've known. Then it popped in his mind where Bruce could be.
Alfred immediately made his way to the guest room where Eva was sleeping in. The moment Alfred opened the door, he knew he was right. Bruce was in fact in Eva's room.
A smirk grew on Alfred's face as he saw Bruce's arm wrap around Eva's waist, Alfred hated to wake them from their slumber but he had to wake Bruce up for the meeting. Alfred walked towards the curtains with a waltz, the moment he pulled the curtains apart, Eva and Bruce started to moan and twist in the bed.
"Good morning...or shall I say good afternoon?" Alfred said with a smirk and his hands behind his back.
Eva seemed to ignore Alfred by covering her face with the blanket. But Bruce answered Alfred with a groan.
"Your meeting with mr Fox is in an hour, master Bruce." Alfred said before his eyes traveled to where Eva was laying, "slept well?"
Bruce ignored Alfred's remark before getting off the bed, "I'll take the Ferrari then."
When Eva finally woken up it was already 6 pm. She quickly jumped off the bed and hurried to the bathroom to get changed and ready, maybe she overstayed? Perhaps she would've woken up earlier and left just in case Bruce and the others wouldn't be uncomfortable. When she was prepared, she left the room only to bump into Dick. "You sure are a heavy sleeper, huh?" He said with amusement.
Eva chuckled nervously, "Old habits die hard."
"Bruce is waiting downstairs for you, he's at his office." Dick said with a wide grin before he went to his own room.
It took forever for Eva to pinpoint where exactly Bruce's office was until Alfred led her to Bruce himself. She knocked at the door while she smiled at Alfred who was leaving to give the two more privacy.
"Come in." Bruce's voice was muffled behind the close door but Eva could still hear him. As she entered his office, she found him sitting on the floor instead of in his comfy leather chair.
"Hey." Bruce greeted with a warm smile that made Eva's stomach twist.
"Hey." Eva greeted back.
Eva made her way to the man slowly, sitting beside him.
"You sure love to sleep a lot." Bruce said with amusement as he eyed the papers laying on the floor.
"I'm sorry about that, that's something I can't control." Eva said with a slight chuckle with blushed cheeks.
"Do you want to go to a movie with me?"
Eva agreed on going to the movies with Bruce.
She had no idea what they were watching but she didn't mind.
While they sat in the middle row, there wasn't many people in the cinema to begin with.
The two sat in silence as they watched the movie, from time to time, Bruce would glance at Eva without her knowledge.
It was a one time thing that the cinema would show an old black and white movie, immediately Bruce took it as a chance to take Eva out.
Eva leaned into Bruce, closely whispering to him to not bother the few people who were sitting further down, "so, is this considered a date, mr Wayne?"
Bruce met her eyes to meet a playful glint, she had a small smirk but could make out her blushing cheeks from the movie's light.
"I do consider this a date, do you?" Now, Bruce's smirk matched hers.
"I do." Eva's words made him smile brighter, he placed his hand on the back of her neck and leaned in to kiss her passionately.
It definitely took Eva by surprise but she kissed him back. Until she had to mention something, "don't you find this a bit cliche? Kissing at the movies?"
Eva chuckled at Bruce's fake-hurtful-expression, "I was only trying to be romantic."
"Now shut up and kiss me." Bruce pulled Eva in once more.
After the movie, Bruce thought that it was a nice idea to take a walk in the park for a little while.
The park though, it wasn't like what he remembered when he was younger. The walls were clean and there was no litter, now, it was a different story. Bruce and Eva seemed to ignore that part while they walked closely beside each other.
However, a thought popped in Bruce's head, he remembered when Eva told him that she too, had nightmares just like himself. He couldn't stop wondering what caused her nightmares and what was it about?"Something on your mind, dear?" Eva said cheekily.
"Actually...yes." Bruce said. "You said that you had nightmares." Bruce turned to look at Eva only to see her look back at him. "What're your nightmares about?"
Eva exhaled before she spoke, she never told anyone except Veronica about her nightmares that she used to suffer from. "I used to have nightmares about...about my parents." Instantly, this caught Bruce's attention.
"But it was only recently that my nightmares have stopped." Eva said. "What're your nightmares about, Bruce?"
"My parents too." This time, Bruce opened up more than he expected. He explained every details of his nightmares to Eva that night.
