While Veronica and Bruce pondered where Eva was located, Eva was bewildered to how she actually ended up in Selina's apartment. Eva revealed her big secret- her identity- to Selina and instantly the cat allowed Eva to crash at her place.
"You're leaving?" Eva watched as Selina packed all her possessions that mainly consisted of her jewels and clothes.
A tabby orange cat kept swerving between Eva's legs purring- at night that cat slept on Eva's belly, purring contently.
"I think she likes you." Selina smirked and when Eva crossed her arms on her chest and raised her brows waiting for an answer, Selina sighed, "this city, Eva...Gotham is too much for me now, the fun is over. I'm leaving to a place where I can start fresh!" Selina said excitedly. "I need a new place where I can...collect new artifacts and jewels. If you know what I mean."
Of course Eva knew what Selina meant. Stealing artifacts and jewels worth millions seemed to be Selina's obsession.
"You're not coming back are you?" Selina walked over to Eva, wrapping her hands gently on her arms. "You know- we worked good together, I really enjoyed it. I'll leave you my apartment, its basically yours now. I owe it to you anyway."
And just like that, when midnight arrived, Selina was gone taking her beloved cats, jewels, clothes and artifacts. Eva sat in her spacious apartment on her own on a white sofa, a single lamp illuminating a corner of the living room.
No Veronica. No Bruce. No Ashley. No Dick. No Margo. No Sam. No Dean. No Frank. No Steve. No one. It was completely quiet and Eva didn't know if it was melancholic or a relief.
After laying on the sofa and watching tv, Eva got bored and instantly she had to do something urgently.
At least she thought it was urgent.
Alfred opened the door only to see Eva, an instant smile on his face upon seeing her. "Miss Eva, how lovely to see you, please do come in." Alfred moved away from the door and allowed Eva to enter.
"Hey, Alfred." Eva said with a nervous smile as she looked around the manor.
"If you're looking for master Bruce-" Before Alfred could continue, Eva cut in. "Actually no. Its okay, I'm not really looking for Bruce." The girl pulled out an orange jacket out of her leather back pack and shoved it in Alfred's direction, "actually...I-I just came here to return this. It belongs to Bruce..."
It was the time when Bruce had a walk in the park with Eva and when Eva started to shiver, Bruce handed over his orange jacket to at least give her more warmth.
As Alfred's orbs traveled to the jacket and back to the girl, a big smile grew on his face, making Eva nervous. "Miss Eva, you may not want to confess...but I think you do want to see master Bruce. If you didn't you wouldn't have come here tonight."
Eva sighed loudly at Alfred's words and slightly slouched, tossing Bruce's orange jacket on the sofa. "Oh Alfred, it's complicated." As Eva groaned, Alfred chuckled.
"Complicated as in he wears a mask and beats bad guys and you wear a mask but run away from vigilantes like himself?" A hint of sarcasm filled his tone as he looked at her with a slight smirk and a raised brow.
Of course he knew. Alfred knew everything.
Suddenly Eva felt overwhelmed, she felt like she was carrying an elephant on her shoulders while her heart sank deeper in her chest, "Alfred...we're so different." Eva tucked her hair behind her ear, avoiding his gaze as she spoke almost in a whisper.
